  1. We stayed at Zannos Melathron for 5 days.
Unfortunately we were very disappointed: we were made aware of the hotel via internet. The special pictures of our room with the dream view attracted us.
We arrived full of anticipation and were given a room with no view at all. After asking, we were told that the pictures were of another room and the room was occupied.
Since our displeasure was noticeable, we were given another room; the view was OK. But the pool was empty on the first day.
The organization within the hotel was very chaotic. For example, our toilet paper wasn’t refilled and the reception is no longer staffed in the evenings. We were lucky and a neighbor room was able to help us out.
The breakfast was OK, but we missed fresh fruits and vegetables.
In our opinion, the price-performance ratio in this hotel is not right and we also felt cheated because of the incompatible photos on the booking website.

  2. It is located at the commanding heights of the island, with a wide view, you can see the east and west coasts at the same time, and there is a place on the top of the mountain where you can see the sunrise and sunset.
The hotel rooms are semi-B&B, old-fashioned, and worth a try if you are tired of hotel service. There is a public swimming pool in the courtyard where our room is located, and the water is very fresh.
The service here is like opening a blind box, you don’t know what will appear next moment. Breakfast time can vary from half an hour to over an hour, depending entirely on how quickly they work. The fourth guest who comes after a meal will be the first to get breakfast, and the three tables of guests who came before will get their food at their own pace. For breakfast, you can scan the QR code to place an order on your phone, but some ideas are very strange. For example, when the quantities of cheese and salami are one each, you will indeed only get a slice of cheese and a thin slice of salami, which is indeed correct. But there’s always something strange.

  3. Horrendous organisation and absolute disgrace of an hotel. Shocking customer service filled with confusion and empty goodwill promises.
We NEVER got the room we had paid for! Was promised an one night refund but staff REFUSED to provide formal communication confirming the refund. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST!
We had booked ourselves a room with hot tub for two nights but we were never ever given that room. We were shown to a standard room upon our arrival and we raised this to reception staff immediately. A staff member named Aid who appears to be a temp came to apologise and offered a one night refund – claiming that the room we had booked was not ready because of a humidity issue. He said he’d look into it and later that night offered the originally booked room with hot tub to us saying that the humidity issue was resolved. He claimed that they were caught by surprise because the rooms with shared hot tub were meant to be sold. We decided against staying in that room on day 1 because of the potential of mould. We came to an agreement with Aid on a refund to be arranged when check out, and to move to the room with hot tub on day 2 when the humid smell gets better.
Day 2, we were away for the day to return to the hotel in the evening roughly 930pm. Aid had texted us during the day asking when we would return and would show us to the room. He never turned up and the receptionist instead took us to a different room, with a shared swimming pool. Whilst the room was nice, it was not what we had paid for. We raised this in person with Aid at check out on day 3 and asked about the refund process. We were given with vague answers and Aid refused to provide any written communication to confirm a refund. There was no manager on site ever. Aid claimed that the manager would handle the refund and also hinted that it was our issue to be returning so late on the previous night, which leads to a delay in refund because he didn’t have the chance to make things right with us although the refund had already been verbally agreed. He also made various claims such as the manager was in meeting so he’s not able to contact him, only to appear to be able to speak with him on the phone promptly following this claim. He also said that there had been issues with hot tubs and they did not have them switched on during summer. This is simply untrue as I had found a functional hot tub in the hotel with warm water during a cold windy early morning. Also the room we had booked in – we found that to be occupied by other guests. Our assumption is that they had overbooked and had to move us around which is extremely unprofessionally and plainly unacceptable for a hotel of this size.
We expressed our disappointment with Aid and as of writing this review, he or the manager had made no attempt to contact us about the agreed refund. We simply didn’t receive the room or services we had paid for.
Fuming would be an understatement of how we are feeling. This hotel is extremely unprofessional – can only be described as a circus run by amateur clowns. 0 respect to their customers. They need to seriously re-evaluate their way of working, would be nice GIVING US THE AGREED REFUND as a start. No attempy shown by the hotel to contact us regarding the refund as of writing this one week later. Absoutely unacceptable and a disgrace.
AVOID THIS HOTEL AT ALL COST. Literally cannot stress this more.

  4. This hotel is unlike any other! The location is at the highest point of Pyrgos with a breathtaking view of the entire island. The reception area is like walking into a museum where you see various pieces from centuries ago. The suites are deluxe caves in accordance to the island’s architecture. Definitely worth visiting.

  5. I’ve stayed 3 nights I stayed just for my children as they love the pool the view is amazing but the service is really poor . Breakfast came is all cold and 3 hours late . Order coffe bit never got my order right . Maybe less staff and I agree we all make mistakes but not 3 days in a row so I won’t be going back sadly to this place . It took me 2 hours to find the receptionist and checked in and then I was told they are fully booked and I was so frustrated and beg them to check properly and they found my booking eventually I was in tears for the night🥲🥲🥲🥲
