Absolute scam of a place, avoid at all cost. Place looked like it had a good view of the sunset so I thought why not. First thing the owner tries to get you to order drinks at the bar before you sit down at a table and pay in cash only while trying to distract you with questions about where you’re from so you don’t pay attention to the prices. They have *red wine* for $12 a cup which taste like watered down rose, the glass had lipstick on it! Pretty sure he just took it in the back and poured the same wine in a new cup which we didn’t drink. The mythos beer was $10, which is the most exhorbitant on the island for a bottle. We met another couple who was pregnant and they denied them the bathroom which is vile behavior. Overall this is an absolute disgrace being done to the Greek people but then again it seems like the entire island is clearly scam artists embezzling tourism money not putting anything into the infrastructure or the place…feels disgusting such a beautiful place is being exploited by its locals so badly
This place operates illegally in different ways:
– It advertises Illy coffee but serves solvable Nescafé. We have informed Illy legal department about the misuse of their brand
– They dont give you a receipt but only tell you the price verbally, so that there will be no entry in their books, and subsequently no taxes will be paid
– They dont accept credit card, only cash, which again leads to think that the paid amount will never enter their books.
– They dont have toilets, which, I think, is a legal obligation for every café, bar or restaurant.
The owner boldly stated that he hates Americans, and probably tourists in general I suspect.
As many others have written here, it is a horrible scam, for example 8 Eur for a disgusting Cappuccino.
We have filed a complaint with Authorities to investigate this nightmare of place.
The most expensive drink prices I have ever seen, but great view. My wife and I each had a glass of white wine and watched the sunset. A white wine was €6 and the cheapest alcoholic beverage on the menu by far (cocktails were €20 – €25 each). I recommend this place for one white wine right at sunset, nothing more nothing less. The wine at sunset was a memory I will not soon forget!
Owner charged 8 Euro per beer (Mythos Beer) after asking where we are from and learning it was our last day in Santorini. Claimed his beer is better than Budweiser. Choose this bar at your own risk and please verify prices before making selections…California Chris
Suspect the bar isnt correctly licensed, yes the view for the sunset is good (there are many other options) but it’s ludicrously over priced, even by Santorini prices. €10ish for a beer, €20+ for a cocktail.
The worst aspect, there is no toilet! That’s right, you need the bathroom and there is nothing. This is problematic for many reasons. I’d recommend find one of the other lovely nearby bars….
