Its hard to put into words how incredible this place is. George and Eleni are so welcoming and so thrilled to share their lifestyle with you. We had amazing food, we got breathtaking views, and we had a nice peaceful retreat. The cooking class was very fun and educational. The rooms are very simple and may not have all the amenities you might expect, but for us, that was part of the charm. It’s a simple farmhouse lifestyle with amazing food and wonderful company.
Had an amazing day of cooking lessons at Karimalis today! Eleni inspired us all in helping us make Ikarian pies (including the filo pastry from scratch), soufiko (an Ikarian vegetable dish), and fava… also got to to try other yummy things. Ate everything we prepared on a beautiful terrace looking out over the vineyard to the sea. Eleni, George (who gave us lots of info on the Ikarian diet) and their helpers are all so lovely and helpful. A great way to spend a day on Ikaria!
Breathtaking location for a cooking lesson learning how to cook organically in the traditional Ikarian way. Eleni and George guide you through an engaging, thought provoking and fascinating journey through traditional Ikarian cuisine. You lean by listening, watching and active participation; and finally you test your newly found skills with an amazing lunch on their incredible terrace with views down to the sea.
So much to learn, enjoy and reflect upon

One of the most beautiful wineries I have ever been to. It’s one of my favorites not only because of the wine (I end up buying boxes of wine), the location , the amazing food but also because of the hospitality of the owners Eleni and George. Whether you just visit or opt to stay to this winery it is a must have experience. The cooking lessons and great. The community dinners are awesome. The rooms for renting are so cosy and comfortable. The knowledge you acquire just by mingling with these people is priceless. The culinary experience is simply magnificent. Thank you very much Eleni and George.
