It’s a really great house, built in 2014. The owner is very helpful with inquiries, which is great – especially in coronavirus times. The house itself was very clean, as was the pool and surrounding area. One issue we had with the shower was fixed within a few hours. BBQ was provided. Air conditioning available in all rooms and works great. Really don’t have to leave it on all day to have a cool house quickly at the end of the day. The driveway and gate are very easy to use. In the hills that the house is in, there are several great restaurants with amazing views. There’s one you can easily walk to. The town you drive to at the bottom of the hill has everything you need in terms of shops and bakeries.
Breathtaking views
Our stay in villa Elia and Crete was beyond expectations and even more fun than we could have imagined. A great spot with beautiful views.
On our arrival day we were welcomed by homeowner Antonis with a delicious homemade Greek casserole ‘Moussakas’ and a bottle of red wine. Even bread and orange juice were ready for us in the kitchen. Greek hospitality will not be lacking during our holiday, we will notice it in the coming days.
We enjoyed our week (mid-September) in the house, which fully provides all living comfort. The swimming pool, the privacy of the house, the garden, the terraces. Air conditioning everywhere in the house.
Antonis gave us all kinds of great tips about where to eat and gave us various ideas for outings by car, including restaurants for lunch along the way.
In the village at the bottom of the mountain, a few minutes away by car, you will find Taverna Pagona’s Place with delicious traditional Greek cuisine, where the owner warmly welcomes her guests. Reservations are also recommended. There are many good fish restaurants at the port of Rethymnon. There is also a Lidl in the village for groceries.
In short, we hope to return to Villa Elia together again, the atmosphere and hospitality are great! See you soon!
What a beautiful house and what service from the homeowner Anthonis. Partly because of that, it was a week with a golden edge. Everything just felt right. The house is beautiful, super clean and fully equipped. The homeowner Anthonis was very helpful and even provided food on the first evening because we arrived so late. Awesome. The plot is beautiful and the garden around the house is well maintained and we were even allowed to pick apricots from the own orchard.
