We got this place recommended by a local and we absolutely loved it! Very cute little restaurant in the heart of Rethymno. The food was so aromatic and delicious. Definitely recommend the squid ink croquette, so flavorful.

I had an amazing birthday dinner at Vassilis. Sitting on the stairs with full view on the city is quite romantic. Drinks were really good as well as food. Some specials on the menu. And nice twists with classic dishes. The great service made it a really fantastic experience all together.
Quiet atmosphere, far from the chaos and yet just a stone’s throw from the center. Friendly and courteous staff (both girls were extremely kind).

Nice the fact that they didn’t have the classic gyros, souvlaki, moussaka on the menu but their own interpretations of excellent dishes made with care and research.
Really great and unique traditional Food. Very reasonable Price, about 12-17€ for a large main course.
Service was great, our waiter was very friendly and talkative. We spoke about video games after I said he looked like Alexios from the game “assassins creed”.
Our food was a few minutes delayed, so he offered wine on the house. Also offered to take a picture of our family for us.
The building is also beautiful, and really doesn’t get the attention it deserves.
All dishes were great but I would recommend the most the squid croquettes, they were sooo good.
