6. Affordable Parking Solutions

Traveling with a vehicle? The Trianon offers convenient parking at a reasonable rate of $10 per night. This includes unlimited in-and-out privileges, making your explorations of the area seamless. However, be mindful that street parking can be tricky during weekdays.

8. Emphasis on Privacy and Autonomy

While the Trianon may not have abundant facilities, guests do enjoy the privacy of their own apartments. This can create a laid-back atmosphere for those who may prefer independence over hotel-like communal spaces.

9. A Mixed Bag of Experiences

While the spacious apartments and cleanliness are often highlights, some guests have reported less favorable experiences, such as issues with maintenance and cleaning. These cases may reveal a need for improvements but also point to the overall friendly and accommodating staff.

10. Community-style Setting

Trianon offers a unique atmosphere not typically found in standard hotels. With a mix of tourists and permanent residents, visitors can engage in a more communal experience, often leading to social interactions and a deeper appreciation of local culture.

11. Pet Peeves: Cleaning and Comfort

Several guests have voiced concerns about cleanliness in their apartments and the level of comfort they were expecting. While some apartments are well-kept, it’s essential to communicate any issues to the staff promptly to ensure a pleasant experience.

  1. This is not a regular hotel and probably more aimed at longer term stays, just because the super spacious one bedroom apartment would be perfect for it. I could easily live there for an extended period of time. The apartment has everything you need, included kitchen and laundry. The building is shared with permanent residents and small offices, which didn’t bother me at all. There are no facilities at all in the building, but everything you need is nearby, including bakery (closed on Sunday) and restaurants. It’s about 1 km walk to the city center through a safe neighbourhood. At the end of the street is a great beach for swimming. Parking is unfortunately (but understandably) not free anymore and costs $10 per night. You can drive in/out the parking as often as you please. Street parking is difficult to find on work days.

  2. We were very disappointed when arriving to this place. It has nothing to do with the advert displaying. Atmosphere is really cold. The « reception » looks like if you’re going to take an appointment with a doctor… the whole building is not a holiday place and aren’t welcoming. We’ve been to two different hotels in Crete one even cheaper that were amazing and welcoming.
We do not recommend this spot if you want to enjoy your holidays.
The only great thing about this place were the cleaning ladies that were perfect.

  3. The stay in the room was comfortable, but slightly dirty on the floor with either hair or first in. The downside is that you can’t really feel like you can open the curtains or windows because you have people walking by the hallway, so there is no view at all; also the gym is not properly maintained at all, and it was difficult to always ask to use it, it just didn’t feel like I had the freedom to walk into the gym any time, and they didnt have an air conditioning on. They were very nice about it open and closing the gym when I asked, but I felt like I was being an inconvenience whenever I asked. I would recommend staying at an actual hotel by the sea, and only stay here for one night, not for vacation.

  4. The room was not cleaned thoroughly at all. Almost immediately after checking in I found a massive spider web in the bedroom, big enough that it must have been there for a while. Then there were dead bugs along the window panes, layers of dust and live ants coming through. I took pictures and showed the receptionist who apologized and said she’ll “send someone up right away”. No one came that day.
For the next few days, even when regular housekeeping came to clean, they STILL didn’t clean the area. The giant spiderweb, dead bugs and all, stayed there throughout my entire stay. I don’t know if they just don’t clean behind the curtains, but it allows for bugs, dust and other things to gather and grow.
The ants were a constant problem. I had to spend every morning and night doing an ant sweep. On the last day they kept getting on the bed.
Staff is otherwise very friendly, but I didn’t like that the receptionist told me she would have someone clean that day, but no one came. I’m not sure if that’s just miscommunication between staff and housekeeping though. I didnt bring the issue up again because I didn’t think they would resolve it.

    Positives:
Staff is friendly and helped call for a taxi during checkout. Room is spacious and they have an espresso machine.
