We went to this lovely, family owned, restaurant after a long day of sightseeing. The food was fabulous! I had made a goal of having baklava and Greek salad everyday we were in Greece and what I got there was amazing. The traditional dips were our favorites on the island. The service was fast and friendly. The only sad part…we didn’t get to go back before we left.
Chose this local restaurant for our first night on Santorini and so glad we did. To start, we were served some delicious bread with a garlic dip/spread. Ordered the hot wine with honey which was good. For appetizers had the fava beans and the tomato balls. Both were excellent. The stuffed vegetable were very good. And the shrimp spanakopita was outstanding. Very good food at a reasonable price with excellent service!
Very cozy tavern in Mesaria Village! It’s a gem of a place with amazing food. And the best part is the owners are so so welcoming! We would visit again for sure. Our entire family enjoyed a lot. Must try place when you are in Mesaria
I came to Santorini in search of an authentic Greek food experience, and was fortunate to have stumbled across The Traditional.
Away from the tourist areas of Fira and Oia where you will find extremely overpriced Greek food catered to the tourist, this family owned business cooks everything from scratch, and really embodies the taste of Greece. The service is amazing, and this place really knows how to make you feel like they are cooking for their own family.
You won’t be disappointed. Just take a look at my pictures and start drooling. The price is a fraction of what you will pay in the tourist areas, and the portions are enormous. If you are looking for an authentic Greek experience, I would highly recommend The Tradition to anyone.
Recommended. Had the Chicken Souvlaki, it was really good. After having some dissapointing experiences in touristic traps, finally found a good place to have lunch.
