Welcome to Sun Palace Hotel: An Oasis or a Mirage?
Discovering Sun Palace Hotel
Nestled in the vibrant locale of Faliraki, the Sun Palace Hotel aims to be a hub of relaxation and fun for those seeking sun-soaked vacations. With a mix of luxurious amenities and family-friendly activities, this establishment markets itself as a prime destination. However, potential guests should consider not only what the hotel offers but also what others have experienced.
A Promising Location
The hotel’s strategic position puts it close to picturesque beaches and shops, allowing visitors to explore local culture with ease. Enjoy a short stroll to nearby bars and eateries or indulge in shopping excursions without straying far from the comfort of your room. Yet, the appeal of convenience does not outweigh every aspect of the hotel experience.
Water Park Bliss
One of the main attractions touted by guests is the hotel’s water park, promising fun and thrills for all ages. Families particularly appreciate this center of leisure, allowing children and adults to bond over splashes and slides. However, reports indicate that achieving the ultimate relaxation might come at a cost, with concerns raised regarding the park’s maintenance.
Disappointing Accommodations
The first-hand accounts of visitors paint a less-than-rosy picture of the accommodations at Sun Palace. Several guests reported outdated facilities, with mattresses described as extraordinarily firm and rooms criticized for their noise levels. The expectation of a peaceful retreat often clashes with the reality of disturbances experienced during stays, leading to sleepless nights.
Dining Dilemmas
A common theme running through the reviews is disappointment in the hotel’s dining options. Frequent mentions of monotonous menus and below-average food quality indicate that culinary experiences may not live up to expectations. Guests anticipated a flavorful exploration of local cuisine but found themselves faced with repetitive and unsatisfactory meals.
Staff Support: A Double-Edged Sword
Service experiences differ widely among tourists. While some have reported rude or inconsiderate management, others point out how hotel staff seems overwhelmed or undertrained. This inconsistency draws attention to the importance of attentive service in ensuring a flawless vacation experience, and visitors might find themselves on the receiving end of frustrating encounters.
Maintenance: An Ongoing Concern
Multiple reviews highlight significant issues with room maintenance. Complaints ranged from broken furniture to unclean conditions, sparking a sense of unease regarding the thoroughness of housekeeping. The frequency of reports about improper sanitation and disrepair raises a red flag for potential visitors.
Buggin’ Out: Unwanted Guests
Guests voiced concerns over pest issues with insects noted in rooms and balconies. Such experiences can dramatically influence comfort levels, leaving guests feeling uneasy rather than relaxed. Travelers should be mindful of the potential for uninvited visitors during their stays.
Enjoying Local Excursions
While the hotel environment may warrant caution, surrounding excursions offer captivating alternatives. Guests recommend exploring the nearby island of Symi for breathtaking views and exciting activities. Diving into the local environment can provide an enriching experience outside of the hotel’s confines.
Diversifying Your Tour: Alternative Activities
In addition to beach relaxation, travelers might seek other ways to engage with their surroundings, such as horse riding along the shore. However, previous feedback advises caution as experiences have varied greatly, with several recommending skipping this activity altogether. Ensuring safety and proper guidance surpasses the thrill of adventure.
A Community of Shared Experiences
As criticisms continue to surface, it’s clear that those contemplating a stay at Sun Palace Hotel should seek community feedback. Understanding that experiences can dramatically differ highlights the importance of conducting thorough research before booking a getaway.
Considering Alternatives
When faced with mixed reviews, it’s prudent for potential guests to keep an open mind and remain flexible. The possibility of other nearby hotels that offer better accommodations and service should be factored into the decision-making process. Comfort and enjoyment are what vacations should be about!
Evaluating Value for Money
Despite promising elements, visitor feedback points to an overarching concern regarding value for money. Many feel that the hotel does not deliver on the expectations set by its marketing claims, making it essential for potential guests to realistically weigh what they might receive during their stay.
Making Informed Decisions
As you embark on your travel journey, remain vigilant about reading reviews and gathering information. The experiences of previous guests serve as vital insights, helping you make an informed decision that ultimately leads to a more satisfying trip.
In Conclusion: Sun Palace Awaits
While Sun Palace Hotel presents a mixed bag of experiences, it retains aspects that could promise a delightful escape. Visitors are encouraged to prioritize their preferences and research extensively to ensure that their holiday is everything they dreamed it would be. Whether you choose to embrace the challenge or seek alternatives, the beautiful landscapes of Faliraki beckon travelers to create unforgettable memories!

wifi doesn’t work, hotel is very are old, mattresses are super hard. No normal blankets. Rooms are very noisy. Impossible to sleep
Stayed one week. Food was same every single day.
Good thing: Water park
Stayed here before under better management. Has the potential to be a great place but has been allowed to go down hill (more like rolled off a cliff). Manager is rude, we paid for a big room put in a box and had to argue with her to get moved. Food is below average, cocktails ha more like squash with cheap spirts could not even drink it. Restaurant management are rude and nasty to their staff. Our door on our room blows open, balcony door has to be really slammed to shut, bed was missing a foot (can’t make this up) clearly don’t clean under the beds as that’s where the foot was all week we realised as clearing our room out.
Didn’t even make it to review the hotel so if you are looking for hotel feedback you may aswell click off now !
We booked 4 rooms for the hotel 6 months ago and we where due to fly out next week to stay there and we paid the remaining fee last week only to be told that they have over booked the hotel and have moved our holiday to the start of July instead without telling us! So now we have had a refund and have to find a hotel for 8 in less than 7 days which will be fun !
So for those who have made it this far be wary if you have not paid your bill upfront you may be in for a last minute cancellation as they overbook the hotel in hope some can’t pay up and if they do end up overbooked instead of helping they will offer different dates last minute instead of trying to rectify there mistake. This has caused a lot of unnecessary stress out of our hands and we have had to laugh at the situation rather than cry as how out of order it is .
Was looking forward to staying but won’t go near this place now if this is how they treat there costumers before they step foot in the door…
Ignore all of the botty comments that this hotel has clearly paid for as it is not a 4 star hotel. I have been brainwashed by all the fake 5 star reviews. The quality of the food here is terrible and extremely bad quality and if people say its good food they are living below the poverty line and are desperate for a holiday and clearly have never been on holiday and think that the food here is of good quality. The food taste all bad and are seen as off cuts and i shouldn’t of have booked this holiday on the tui bundle holidays as im too lazy to book hotel and flights separately. The rooms are extremely horrible here i suffered an anaphylactic shock here due to there being ants that roam around the rooms and i woke up at 3:30am in the morning with a itchy throat and covered in hives. This hotel is the epitome of Hotel of Hell as when i asked to change rooms they declined and said they will give it a clean. IM ALLERGIC??? I have permanent residency in the UK but im chinese so i had to contact the Chinese Embassy in Athens for help which they sent a convoy to help with my allergic reaction. Adding on the hotel’s facilities are absolutely bombastically horrible with the playground being out of use with loose layers of wooden planks and nails that should be seen as a huge hazard. Drinks machines that have mold growing in the inside and food that taste off. I have contacted the Chinese Embassy to look into this hotel for futher enquiries. Also if your use to British Weather and are coming to Faliraki BEWARE the weather here is extortionately hot and the air conditioning in the rooms are so weak that the air they emit resembles me blowing from my mouth. You will end up with food poisoning gastroenteritis the flu and be a hot sticky mess at the same time if you come here.
Right we’re to start I’ve just came back from the sun palace the hotel is in a great location close to beach and shops, bars , the shop across the road sofias I would definitely recommend lovely family run business and very helpful. So back to the hotel the we had a family room one room has the balcony which you have to walk through the other room if need the toilet it’s either one room has air con or the other has the doors open so one or the other was hot. There were ants on the balcony I never seen any in the rooms however my daughter said she had two in her bed. The water park need your own rings for lazy river however they provide these for the slides, the floor is uneven and some parts coming up so very dangerous, the food was the same everyday they did have a Greek and a Mexican restaurant that needed to be booked in advance which I don’t recommend wasn’t nice at all. Others in the hotel have said to us about bugs which they was told its nature, a few people was ill, my daughter also felt ill, getting on the coach back to the airport alot of people was or had been sick, lots were coughing too. If you do go to this location i would recommend the excursion to symi totally injoyed it, however the horse riding along the beach was booked for 18.00 I would not recommend this as we rode back to the stables along rocks not the beach, my leg was cut from bambles and other people who had no experience of horse riding wasnt even led by an adult she was expected to ride a big horse alone while i had a 11 year old boy leading me. I would not recommend this hotel at all.
