Sophia Luxury Suites in Imerovigli: A Disturbing Experience
My recent stay at Sophia Luxury Suites was nothing short of a nightmare. Upon arrival, the bellboy carelessly smashed our bags, causing significant damage to our belongings. When we approached management to address the issue, we were met with an appalling lack of care and responsibility. Rather than offering any form of assistance or compensation, we were coldly told that if we were unhappy, we could leave and find another hotel. This was within the first hour of our stay, and they refused to refund our booking.
The indifference displayed by the staff, from the so-called manager Stavros to the lower-tier employees, was utterly shocking. This blatant disregard for guests’ well-being and satisfaction is beyond unacceptable. The service was excruciatingly slow, and the food was the worst we encountered in Greece. I strongly advise against ordering any room service here.
Our holiday was completely ruined, not only by the damage to our personal belongings but also by the sheer lack of accountability and empathy shown by the staff. For the exorbitant prices charged, this establishment offers absolutely no value for money. The poor service overshadowed the otherwise beautiful scenery, leaving us disheartened and disturbed.
It is disheartening to witness such behavior at what is supposed to be a luxury destination. I urge potential guests to reconsider staying here if they value their belongings, their time, and their overall experience. This was a complete disaster and a profound disappointment.
We are so thankful we chose to stay here at Sophia Luxury Suites! It was a welcome reprieve to be in Imerovigli away from the busy town. It was nice and quiet and so beautiful. The staff were very kind, helpful, and hospitable and made our stay so lovely. There is NOTHING like the view and taking in the sunsets from our pool was a highlight of our nights. And there are hardly words to describe the incredible, generous, delicious breakfasts that they bring to you to enjoy on your balcony. We are so grateful we found this place and would highly recommend it!

This was our second time staying at Sophia Luxury Suites, and while we generally enjoyed our stay, our experience with the catamaran sailing excursion left much to be desired.
Three years ago, during our first visit, the catamaran sailing was a highlight of our trip. We were treated to a Champagne, Cocktail & Wine bar with bartender services and a delicious dinner on board featuring lobster, oysters, Greek salad, green salad, dips, and a strawberry chocolate dessert. The water sports activities, including stand-up paddleboarding (SUP), snorkeling, and an underwater scooter, added to the excitement and made it a memorable experience.
However, this time around, the catamaran sailing was a major letdown. There was no full bar service, the dinner was reduced to shrimp pasta served on paper plates, and none of the water sports activities were available. This stark contrast to our previous experience was very disappointing, especially since the same amenities were still advertised on the hotel’s website and at reception.
Aside from the catamaran disappointment, our stay at Sophia Luxury Suites was pleasant. The rooms are beautifully designed, the views are breathtaking, and the staff is generally attentive and friendly. However, given our recent experience, we hope the hotel ensures that advertised services and amenities are consistently provided to maintain the high standards that initially drew us back.
If you’re considering the catamaran excursion, I would recommend confirming the details in advance to avoid any disappointment. Despite this setback, Sophia Luxury Suites remains a lovely place to stay in Santorini, but our enthusiasm has been slightly dampened by this recent experience.
We had the most amazing stay at Sophia Luxury Suites. Our villa was incredible, we had a stunning view looking over the old chapel, which was even better from the rooftop pool. The staff were incredibly helpful, particularly with our luggage.
The rooms were also immaculate. We can’t recommend Sophia Luxury Suites enough.
The first impression was wonderful, 2 people was waiting on a square for a really warm welcoming. Upon check in we receive many information regarding the island, places to visit and activities to do. The room was clean, the staff was always able to arrange everything for us. The breakfast served on the terrace of the room ! They was Really helpful and friendly ! We will visit the place again.
