  1. We had an amazing experience. The cave is beautiful, with an amazing terrace overlooking the caldera. Stavros is an excellent host. He made a trip much easier and provided great tips about the island. Akrotiri is a very nice town, with an authentic feel and much less crowded than Imerovigli, Oia and Fira. Overall, we had a great time!

  2. we were delighted to stay in this very charming cave house. Everything was perfect. The house is spacious and comfortable. Stavros welcomed and advised us so kindly. He also offered us vegetables and honey which he went to look for for us among producer friends so that we could taste the flavors of Santorini. What kindness! We thank him very warmly for his attentions and we highly recommend this place that we loved and where we want to return soon. Santorini is a wonderful and unique island that we know well and we return each time with immense pleasure. To discover absolutely.

  3. Great place to be on Santorini. The cave is in a bit remote location in the village, so it is very calm and you can really relax there while you stay. The views on Santorini are stunning and you can see the whole island almost. The cave itself is an another experience. Had a feeling that I was on Tatooine from Star wars. 😁 But be aware that the humidity there is very high (there is a dehydration machine in the cave) and there is no air conditioning (only a fan). There is a possibility to park a rented car uphill. The host is a great guy, was very friendly throughout our stay and saved us in a way, as our flight was delayed and we came quite late, so he left us some snacks for the evening and for breakfast, as well as 6 bottles of drinking water (and believe me, you need a lot of water when it’s +46 outside) . The only drawback is that the beaches are far away, so expect a little bit of hiking and walking (or simply go to the beach by car, moto or ATV).

  4. I honestly cannot thank Stavros enough. We stayed at Spilia cave and it was absolutely stunning. The atmosphere in a cave house is definitely something you should experience. The bed was super comfortable, Stavros went out of his way to buy us some food and water on our day of arrival so that we didn’t have to worry about it in the morning. 🙂
View from the balcony is stunning.

The neighborhood Akrotiri is very calm, the few locals that we met were very friendly and so were their pets (dogs and cats).

Stavros helped us around Santorini, gave us a map marked with all the nice beaches and places we should visit. We met him on drinks at a hotel he works at in Oia and just chatting with him about numerous different topics was very interesting. He really helped us to get to know Greek people on a more personal and friendly level 🙂
When we left he even gave us tips on what to see in Crete, which was our next stop.

Will definitely visit his beautiful SantoCaves again if we’re ever back in Santorini.

To sum it up, the apartment is gorgeous and the host is the kindest and most helpful person we have ever met.

  5. A true cave house on the foothill in the middle of a local village. Its roof is the cave’s roof, but with a fantastic view of the peninsula below especially in the early morning and sun just came up in front of you from a small hill. Not really convenient so a car or quad is a must, but the village is very quiet after dark. Ordinary supplies however is just 1min away as there is a mini-market run by an old couple which basically provides the basic food or drink items or even daily consumables though they do not really speak English. Just down the hill there are a number of local eateries and more mini markets. Good to feel and live the local life.
