Authentic Oaxacan Flavors

At SaMo’s Oaxaca, authenticity is key. Reviewers rave about their unique offerings, including traditional dishes that speak to the heart of Oaxaca’s culinary heritage. A standout dish among visitors is the famous tlayudas, a large, crispy tortilla topped with various ingredients that embody the essence of Oaxacan street food. One satisfied diner, Joe Devore, describes his first encounter with tlayudas as “perfect flavors and incredible sauces,” earning it a solid 10/10 rating!

Crunchy Goodness Awaits

Many guests have particularly enjoyed the flautas, which are rolled tortillas filled with goodness and fried to a lovely crisp. Janice Ramirez praised the fresh and crunchy texture of these tasty treats, though she noted a slight expectation mismatch with the beef filling. Regardless, the flautas remain a popular choice for those looking to savor something authentic and satisfying.

A Tasty Twist with Fries

Innovation meets tradition at SaMo’s Oaxaca! When Janice requested to substitute traditional chips for fries in her order of super nachos, the staff happily obliged. This flexibility showcases the restaurant’s commitment to customer satisfaction. While the seasoning of the carne asada didn’t entirely meet her palate, the quantity and toppings of the nachos impressively stood out as shareable delights.

The Burrito Experience

Don’t miss the chance to dig into a hearty burrito, highlighted by several patrons. Janice mentioned her burrito cargado as "delicious," showcasing the restaurant’s capability to deliver flavors that are rich and fulfilling. However, be sure to double-check the menu descriptions, as some guests have experienced discrepancies with expected ingredients, such as the absence of black beans.

Tacos That Transport You

Patrick Salas couldn’t help but sing the praises of the tacos served at SaMo’s. With delightful options like carnitas, pastor, and chicken for just $3 each, it’s no wonder visitors feel transported to the streets of Mexico. Patrons are encouraged to indulge in these flavorful bites that reflect rich culinary traditions loved throughout Latin America.

With authentic Mexican seasonings and a satisfying richness, this burrito is a fulfilling choice that many diners recommend without hesitation.

  1. Situated in a very compact strip center, the restaurant offered good and authentic food, including chili grasshoppers or possibly crickets. The prices were average. Unfortunately, there were no public restrooms, which was inconvenient since this was our first meal after a long drive.

  2. I ordered the beef flauta plate, super nachos, and burrito cargado. When I choose the beef option for the flautas, I thought I would get shredded beef. Instead it was ground beef, they should write that on the description. The flautas were fresh & crunchy, which I did love! For the super nachos, I asked if they could substitute the chips for fries. Which they did! I was happy about that. I got it with the carne asada, I wasn’t a huge fan of the taste. It was salty and too lemony. But I did love the toppings, it was a huge portion too! Enough to share! Perfect. The burrito was DELICIOUS! Only downside was that it had no beans, I thought it was suppose to come with black beans. I could be wrong though. The protein option I went with was Al pastor, super delicious too! For the price of the burrito, I expect everything that is in the description to be inside the burrito.

  3. My first time here. Small mom and pop joint. Clean fast friendly service. I got the California burrito, it was big and very tasty. Compared to a Sandiego taco shop, I would say they had more authentic Mexican seasonings going on that gave it some rich and complex flavors. I would definitely get it again.

  4. The tacos are so good! I ordered one carnitas, one pastor and one chicken for $3 (three dollars!!) each. They reminded me of the tacos I’ve had in Mexico and throughout Latin America.

Little place in a compact strip center. I will definitely come back here and try some of the authentic Oaxacan food like tlayuda
