Families can rejoice knowing that Mon Repos offers a safe space for children to play. With a shallow sea ideal for wading and warm sand beaches, kids can enjoy building sandcastles and splashing about without a care in the world. It’s a great spot for a family day out, where laughter and joy abound.
Managing Expectations about the Water
While the sea at Mon Repos is shallow and warm, it has been noted that its clarity can leave much to be desired. Visitors should be prepared for some seaweed and murkiness, particularly near the port. However, many have still found joy in the beach experience despite these minor downsides.
Potential vs. Reality of Cleanliness
There has been feedback regarding the cleanliness of the changing areas and general maintenance of the facilities. Some patrons have voiced concerns over dirty changing rooms, which detracts from an otherwise pleasant atmosphere. It’s worth taking this into account when planning your visit.
Cost Considerations: Sunbeds and Facilities
Sunbeds at Mon Repos come at a price, with costs around €28 for two. Some visitors feel the price is reasonable, given the location and amenities. However, others suggest that the sunbeds could be cleaner and well-maintained. Always check for any added costs before settling down!
The Contrast Between Old and New
While the bar and dining options receive mixed reviews, the presence of these facilities is a benefit. Many enjoy the convenience of ordering food directly to their sunbed, though some have reported high costs and varying quality in service. Exploring nearby dining options could provide a better experience.
The Mixed Experience of Changing Rooms
Aside from the allure of the beach, visitors have expressed dissatisfaction with the changing facilities. Many describe the toilets as lacking proper hooks or functionalities, making it uncomfortable for beachgoers. Considering alternative arrangements might enhance your visit.
Accessibility and Location
One of the advantages of Mon Repos is its convenient location. Easily reachable via public transport, it’s an excellent choice for those staying in nearby Corfu Town. The proximity allows tourists to effortlessly enjoy a day at the beach followed by a stroll through the city.
A Post-Apocalyptic Pier Experience
A notable attraction is the long pier that stretches into deeper waters. While some find its rugged appearance captivating, others compare it to a scene from a post-apocalyptic movie. This unique attraction may draw adventurous souls willing to navigate the journey to a more secluded swimming experience.
Family-Friendly Features
In addition to Kid-centric activities, the overall structure of Mon Repos makes it suitable for families. Children can safely explore the beach areas while parents relax in the shade. A day filled with family bonding is guaranteed when choosing this peaceful destination.

The big advantage of the spa is the beautiful and mature trees that provide plenty of shade and a pleasant climate even on very hot days. The food from restaurant was tasty. No one asked us for money for the sunbeds in the back row. Lovers of abandoned spaces and bygone glory will find their place here, as part of the area is dilapidated and exudes the atmosphere of old times. The sea is shallow, warm and not very clear. Kids enojyed playing in the sand!
Perhaps some of the beautiful photos in Google are old photos, as it was before. Now everything is very old and dirty. The changing rooms are all dirty. The bar is expensive. I ordered fresh juice, and they brought water with syrup… The sea is shallow and also, since it is dirty near the port… On the plus side – there is shade and a shower with fresh water.
– sunbeds are expensive (€28 for 2) but dirty
– the lot has great potential but doesn’t seem to be well-maintained
– there is a long pier leading you into the deeper waters, otherwise it’s pebbles, rocks then sea weeds all the way: the pier itself is few steps before looking like something out of a post-apocalyptic survival movie
– there’s a bar with some drinks (not sure if you can eat there but there is a nice restaurant nearby)
– a comically large amounts of changing rooms, but the toilets are hard to find and a bit discomfortable
Overall, it’s a decent option for a place near the Mon Repos park with great dining options nearby and relatively close to the city center if you wish to spend a day on a beach. Otherwise, there are better, cheaper, nicer beaches elsewhere.
After the gorgeous beaches of Barbati, I am grossly disappointed. Shallow sea for hundreds of meters afar, lots of seaweed. The changing rooms are not functioning. Onr has to change in the toilet, where there are no conditions for that. Not even a hook to hang your bag. We nearly laid our beach towel next to a dead rat.
I read some negative reviews and almost gave it a miss. However staying in Corfu Town it was very conveniently located and only a short ride on the 2A bus. I’m glad we came. Its a very pleasant situation with decent sinloungers (any sand thereon could be swept off in a moment). Cost was €28 for I feltwas reasonable. There is a bar with helpful staff and a decent beach menu with the food delivered to your subbed. Altogether very pleasant experience and we will be returning.
