When we arrived to the hotel, we were immediately stunned. On photos hotel looks much better than in reality. Hotel was a bit older however staff was even worse. Everyone was very arrogant and rude, even owner of the hotel. We even waited several hours to get checked in and no one was being helpful, we had to contact our travel agency to help us and provide us the voucher. Rooms were tidy and simpler. On the website there was written that hotel is 600 m from the local beach, which was not true at all. The beach was more than 1 km away and to get there you had to walk though some path in middle of the field. Overall we didn’t have the best experience at this hotel. I would rate this hotel with 2 stars. 👎
We are an undemanding student couple that doesn’t need much to be happy and have a great time. We paid for a *** hotel and that’s what we got.
The pool at the hotel was very nice, clean, also free sunbeds and umbrellas and always enough of them. At the pool it says swimming only until 20:00, but no one kicked us out and there is a possibility to swim later in the evening, which we appreciated. During the whole day snack bar with friendly stuff is opened. The area of the hotel is well taken care of and decorated even though the hotel itself is older.
The food in our opinion was great. Half pension was completed enough for us. Breakfast in a classical style 7:30-10:0 comes with drinks of a choice (water, coffee, milk, juice). Dinners starts at 19, three times a week there is a special themed menu (barbecue, Italien, seafood) and our stay ended with Greek Cousine that we enjoyed the most. With dinner you get only water but the stuff immediately asked you if you would like to drink something else for extra pay but it wasn’t expensive and wine and beer was especially tasty.
The road to the beach corresponds to the description of the hotel, it is not far. The surroundings are not very nice and full of garbage, but that’s how it is on the whole island of Kos…
From the first day on, we were trying to solve the fact that there was no possibility to lock our room. Repeatedly at different times and for three days we were at the reception and both ladies there assured us that someone will come to fix it and no one will steal anything from us because they did not know that we were unlocked. On the day of arrival we were told that someone would fix it in the morning, then we were told in the evening, then maybe sometime in the next day.. I understand that if the chip card system doesn’t work, it’s not easy to fix it, but a room that can’t be locked cannot be offered for accommodation… We didn’t want to pay that much attention to it and also had many plans for our vacation so we decided to leave it be and enjoy our otherwise pleasant stay at Roseland’s.
The rooms were fine, the balcony had a nice view. Cleaning could have been more precise, but nothing terrible. In our case, the sheets were changed every two days. Each person got one small and one large towel, but after 4 days the towels somehow just disappeared and noone brought any new (the lady at the reception said they will come later but they didn’t). Trash cans were emptied every day.
Air conditioning is available for a fee, but we didn’t pay for it in the end, even though it got pretty hot at times.
Overall, I rate our 7-day stay positively, we enjoyed our vacation beyond our expectations, considering some negative Google reviews. We would recommend the hotel manager to work on the communication of the two ladies at the reception with the guests, they seemed quite uninterested in our problems. Apart from the incident with the lock everything was good and we enjoyed our stay.
I gave 5 stars for value for money. We were half board and didn’t eat out once. Quality home cooked food, and Greek style but always beens, egg and sausage at breakfast, lunch and sometimes bacon. Good snacks for lunch. Really relaxed vibe with a mix of music at the pool bar from deep house to trad Greek. The manager, Ambrose is very approachable. If you arrive late and need supply’s there is a short cut behind the last block on your right.
Dont read negative reviews from spoiled people (who wants all for 10€) this hotel is older but thats why you have great value for the price! We stayed only 3 days, but great breakfast with many options, nice fun on greek night with dancers, kind people on the pool bar (the bar lady 😉 and other staff. We appreciated the anti-mosquito net on the balcony and fridge. After many city breaks, I felt like on a vacation again in quet place chillin by the pool by palmas and enjoying vacation. Would love to be back soon.
Lady from reception very nice. Minus for cleaning, we had to remind ourselves to clean the room after 3 days. For this price ok.
Edit: The cleaning ladies kindly cleaned it up but did not replace the towels, which were 4 days
