Great town center hotel, close to plenty of bars restaurants and shopping area, withe only a short walk to the old town. Great breakfast and we ate dinner a couple of times which was very good on both occasions. Bar and restaurant reasonably priced compared with many of the local places and the 2 for 1 cocktail happy hour twice a week is must. It’s very modern and the rooms are well equipped if a little on the small side. The pool area is small but only to be expected given the location. All the staff were very helpful and pleasant at participating the bar and reception staff. If we visit Rhodes again this hotel will be top of our list for accommodation in Rhodes town.
We have stayed here several times before and this hotel is still as good as ever. So many good things to mention. It is spotlessly clean. The food is excellent and very reasonably priced. The bedrooms are very comfortable, spacious with excellent showers. But the most praise has to be reserved for the staff. They are outstanding. So efficient, so polite, incredibly helpful and just plain lovely. The lovely Maria and her colleagues on the front desk are first class.
great hotel, amazing location. the service was really good and they upgraded us for the amazing island suite. the room has an amazing view and good facilities. the disadvantages of the room are that the view also see you so there isn’t much privacy and there is no door in the toilet – it is wide open to the room. the breakfast is varied and tasty. the gym is excellent and comes with personal trainer. the pool seems nice but it was windy when we were there so didn’t tried it.
I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and service that I experienced at the Rhodos Horizon City Hotel. Quite frankly, I was actually blown away, given the excellent QPR. I don’t often frequent properties that are not part of my various hotel chain loyalty programs, but I didn’t really have any viable options at this time of year, so after reading all the positive reviews, I decided to book here.
This was my first foray onto the island, so I wasn’t quite sure where to choose my home for a week. I decided the city center would be a better choice than being further afield on an all-inclusive. I believe I made the right choice. Not only was the hotel located close to the sea and beaches, it was within walking distance to a myriad of dining and shopping options. The neighborhood was also clean and quite attractive, always a good thing.
The hotel was spotless; white and beige marble everywhere would have shown dirt immediately, so it was visibly clean, not only in the public areas, but the room as well. My room was a good size, with quality furnishings that were sturdy and modern. It had a desk and stool, as well as a chair and table. The balcony was furnished with two chairs and a table, and as I had a corner room, it overlooked a section of the pool as well as the street. The bathroom was large enough, with a good size walk-in shower with plenty of hot water and a vanity counter with plenty of space for toiletries. One thing that I wasn’t crazy about, was the use of small shampoo and bath gel bottles. I find them not only wasteful, but harder to use than the dispenser type.
My rate included breakfast, and judging from the number of guests in the restaurant, I would assume so did almost everyone’s. The hotel does cater to tour groups, but the crowd was older and conservative, mostly Brits during my visit. There were enough tables scattered throughout the public areas bordering the restaurant, so finding a table was never a problem. The food was good, fresh and varied. It wasn’t up to the Asian 5* experience, but certainly enough to satiate.
I lounged by the pool one afternoon. It was pleasant enough, and got sun for a good part of the afternoon. Poolside service was available.
I love finding hidden gems like this, but as I usually stay at chains due to work, I don’t get the opportunity very often. I will certainly return as I found both the hotel and Rhodes itself to be quite pleasant.
