Me and my wife had a very pleasure holiday in September 2023. The wonderful private beach includes all what you can imagine. Nice Barservice directly at the beach with great cocktails and a beautiful clear water to swim. The rooms are very clean and the staff people were very nice and friendly. A very georgous person at Proteas Blu is Simonetta – we are so glad an thankful that we met her. She exactly knows what we want at dinner and she was so handsome. Dear Simonetta – thank you for your special service at dinner and your kindful way you give to your guests. All in all, we could say that our holiday in Samos and especially at the Proteas Blue Resort were perfect. It was us a pleasure to visit this little island with these very nice people.
Greets from Chiara & Alex
Beautiful resort, very relaxing, peaceful with a lovely private beach. Simonetta and Pondulis (my stars of the show!) offered a true service of excellence, extremely helpful, polite and made sure I thoroughly enjoyed my meal, drinks but also the atmosphere! I hope to return to the Hotel next year to see them. Pondulis is a cocktail MASTER and made the BEST Cocktails delivered with a smile! The reception staff was very friendly, professional and efficient which I absolutely loved. The rooms require tea/coffee amenities and an iron board/iron in each room. Besides this it was absolutely PERFECT! Thank you for the mot fabulous us Summer at Proteas Blu Resort!!
Great place to stay.
Serviceminded staff, good breakfast buffet, recommend the freshly made omelets, lots of items to pick and choose from.
Their bar and lunch snacks are nice and service is great.
The only downside is the steep slopes down to the pool and beach.
This is due to location but one must be aware of it. Yes they can pick you up with golf carts and drive you to and from.
The beach and pool areas are great.
The pebble beach is to prefere over the sand, at least for me.
This is a place I might consider returning to.
BTW
Be aware of the territorial smaller fishes at the beach. They might nibble and bite if you stand still too long. Nothing serious, though. 😉
We had a wonderful stay. The staff is amazing – friendly, very helpfull, polite and professional – they totaly compensate for the lack of the (bath)room comfort. Daily surprises in form of small gifts were a nice touch. The beach is clean with enogh and comfortable lungers. Pool restaurant and beach bar have just enough extensive menues that they don’t get boring.
The hotel offers a great escape from the bizzy world, the only drawback are bathrooms, which really need renovation.
Just returned from a wonderful 7 days. I was thinking of giving it a really poor review to put people off so we can keep it to ourselves, but this would be unfair to the staff.
Anything that the hotel lacks is more than made up by the helpfulness of the staff.
Rooms and clean and airy great Aircon, slightly noisy from adjacent room’s when running water but it’s a small moan nothing terrible.
Sea view is absolutely stunning.
Good storage and fridge to keep drinks nice and cold.
Cleaned daily plus fresh towels daily.
From the room side of things the only thing I would like is a better bathroom with maybe a walk in shower and a light switch in the bathroom so not to wake someone if you want to use the loo at night.
The food is plentiful and breakfast is great, freshly made omelette is brilliant, with pancakes and juice made to order, plus the buffet to choose from.
Local honey is just lovely and once again staff so pleasant and helpful.
The pool bar food(extra cost)
Once again great nice shade to sit under and large plentiful portions cooked using fresh produce.
Poolside shower and cooling water in the pool, some extra parasols poolside would be good as these are fairly limited.
The private beach whilst small was clean and sunbeds and loungers, make sure you take beach shoes due to stones.
The private beach is ok but definitely quiet and relaxing,we hired a car and tried many other beaches with Tsamadou being our favourite.
Hotel beach had bells on the parasol to press and the staff come to you and takes drink order and bring it to you (extra cost for drink, service is part of hotel)
Beach towels provided by giving cards to staff you can get clean towels as often as you like.
Beach bar in the evening had an amazing chilled vibe but didn’t seem to be as busy as we expected but that’s due to something I will explain soon.
But the barman was a chilled out dude who makes amazing cocktails, entertainment most evenings the Greek night being the highlight.
But just sit and relax and enjoy the views.
Ok there’s going to be a negative.
First the evening meals, food is amazing and we left full to the brim every night, however whilst we can’t knock the quality or service or amount choices are limited to a set menu with no veggie or vegan options or if you not a fish lover.
But if you ask they will give you an alternative.
Hard to fault though as food quality is excellent.
And the views just amazing, plus to add to it the little bird’s who pop along for bread are very cute.
Staff are so friendly.
So the biggest drawback to the hotel is the hill I suffer from a bad back and the walk up and down is pretty brutal particularly if it’s hot.
So be prepared to get sweaty and breathless unless 😃 you call the reception with the free phone at the bottom they will come and collect you in a golf buggy, they will do this from rooms also if you are at the bottom of the complex.
We chose to walk as we needed the steps and during our stay never failed to go under 14thousand.
Overall it’s a beautiful hotel, definitely a thumb’s up.
With the downside being, outdated bathroom’s,lack of options for evening meals and the hill, but don’t let this put you off because the plus points are definitely worth a few minor issues.
Haven’t even gotten to the island itself that’s for another time but just to say it’s the best and free from parties and loud obnoxious drunk’s.
And as a British citizen there’s very few of us around and I love that.
An island free from lads on tour and drunk’s, just perfect.
