We loved the Portabello Hotel for its perfect location, a five minute walk to the centre of Mykonos yet quiet and with breathtaking views from atop the hill looking below. Suites were spacious and beautifully designed, staff were courteous and very accommodating giving great suggestions and helping with all arrangements to visit the beaches and other sites on the island. Breakfast and sunset cocktails were outstanding. We would like to thank Anna and Marianthi for their outstanding service at the front desk. Cannot wait to return to Portabello. Highly recommend!
Fantastic views, great service and comfortable rooms make this place unique. Staff is very helpful. If you want to have breakfast here you will have to pay in advance for it. But you will get a lot of options. They have a fix buffet but also a few different options everyday. And of course don’t forget to enjoy the view while eating ! Try everything! Cleaning is a must here. Every time you leave your room they will come and make sure everything is in place. Staff will provide you with information all the time including car rentals, they will arrange for you according to your needs and the agency will send a representative after. The hotel has a small parking space for a few cars. So you are covered.
Fantastic hotel with amazing service. Great location overlooking Mykonos Town and a view of great sunsets. The staff was wonderful, especially Anna and Dio. I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone who is planning on staying in Mykonos.
Amazing hotel with amazing views. The staff are most friendly and helpful staff I have ever seen in all my travels across the world. The location is also perfect, literally steps away from downtown and steps away to the main roads. This hotel is the best place to stay in Mykonos!
I stayed at Portobello Boutique Hotel with my sister while in Mykonos. We liked the views of the village and the water from the hotel. We also liked the buffet breakfast. Unfortunately, our positive experiences were hampered by the treatment of the hotel staff. My sister and I arrived mid-day via ferry and taxi. The hotel has many steps leading down to it. The taxi driver told us to go down to reception and tell them to help us bring our four suitcases down the steps. I ran down and told the reception this and the woman said we had to bring our bags down ourselves because the porter who helps with that was not at the hotel at that time. My sister and I dragged our bags down the steps just to find that there were two female employees waiting at the door. We weren’t sure why they couldn’t help us bring our suitcases down to reception. They did offer us water and complimentary wine. They also helped us take our bags up a few steps to our room. The woman at reception said she upgraded our room, but after reviewing the room options, my sister and I don’t believe she actually did that. Whenever we came to reception to ask about the area or to have important travel documents printed, we were met with an attitude and treated as if our requests were silly. For example, we asked how to get to a nearby location. I asked the reception staff to tell me the address so I could put it into Google Maps. Instead, the woman walked us outside, pointed across the whole town, and said our destination was “right there.” On another day, we watched a guest ask how to get somewhere and the reception staff pulled out a map and showed the woman exactly how to get to her destination. Another time, we had returned to our room after it had been cleaned earlier in the day. One of the windows was left open by the housekeeping staff. I tried closing the window but it wouldn’t budge. To avoid damaging hotel property, I went to reception and told them the window wasn’t closing. The woman told me to just pull it. I told her I had tried that and didn’t want to force the window and damage/break it. She rolled her eyes as she got up and followed me to the room. She closed the window. My sister said the window in the bathroom was also open and we wanted it closed. The woman said it was open to let air in. We are aware of what windows are used for, but we didn’t want them open. In addition, there is a paper in the room informing guests to close all their windows when they leave their rooms for the day so we are unsure why, when we closed the windows, the hotel staff opened them in our absence. Instead of just following requests and accommodating us, the hotel staff almost always made snarky remarks. We were not greeted in the mornings when we came to breakfast. Instead, we were reminded to wear gloves if we were going to serve ourselves. We watched other guests serve themselves without gloves with no redirection from the staff. The hotel WiFi was very poor which made it hard for us to communicate with our family back home. When we checked out, we werent asked how our stay was or told to have safe travels. Overall, while the views and breakfast were pleasant, the customer service made our stay a negative experience overall.
