Discovering the Panorama Cafe & Bar: A Visitor’s Insight
Welcome to the Panorama Cafe & Bar
Nestled in the heart of the city, the Panorama Cafe & Bar stands out as a prominent destination for both locals and tourists alike. With its strategic location offering a bird’s-eye view of the bustling square, patrons are drawn in by the promise of great drinks and scenic vistas. However, as we delve deeper, potential visitors should bear in mind the mixed bag of experiences reported by previous guests.
A Scenic View with Attitude
One of the most frequently mentioned highlights of the Panorama Cafe & Bar is undoubtedly its breathtaking view of the square. Guests can unwind on the veranda, soaking in the vibrant atmosphere of the surrounding area. However, reviews suggest that the experience might come with a side of unwelcome confrontations, altering the idyllic image painted by the scenery.
Unlocking the Drinks Menu
As Lisa Dunn aptly points out, patrons can indulge in a selection of beers while enjoying the view. Yet, it’s crucial to note the price point, as some guests found the options to be on the more expensive side. For those seeking an authentic local brew without breaking the bank, it may be wise to explore other nearby establishments.
A Pricey Culinary Experience
While many are drawn to Panorama for drinks, particular focus should be placed on their food offerings. Linda Ford’s experience with an €85 plate of fish for two emphasizes that culinary adventures here come at a premium. Tourists should come prepared for the possibility of a splurge, and factor that into their dining plans.
Cash-Only Conundrum
One of the most alarming trends among reviews is the cash-only policy that catches many guests off guard. Paulo Titto’s experience illustrates the inconvenience and frustration of finding out too late that cards are not accepted, leading to aggressive encounters that marred what should have been a pleasant outing. Tourists should ensure they are prepared with sufficient cash before approach.
Comparing Culture and Values
The varied accounts point to a clash between the charm of local customs and the expectations of international visitors. Many patrons found the aggressive service style confusing and, at times, intimidating. This juxtaposition highlights the importance of cultural sensitivity while traveling.
Bathroom Blues
One recurring complaint among visitors is the cleanliness of the facilities. The cleanliness of toilets is a basic expectation, and unfortunate reviews indicate a need for improvement in this area at Panorama. Tourists may want to consider locating alternate restroom facilities before settling in.
A Shocking Bill
Fortune favors the bold, but when it comes to bill disputes, knowledge is power. Rozsnyai Orsolya’s review serves as a cautionary tale for tourists eager to enjoy their experience without encountering surprise charges. Double-checking the bill and communicating any discrepancies is vital for a smooth exit.
Uninvited Stress
Several visitors have reported uncomfortable interactions with the staff, which can cast a shadow over an otherwise bright day. The aggressive demeanor of management, as highlighted by multiple reviews, diminishes the welcoming ambiance one would expect from a cafe of its stature. Tourists are encouraged to maintain their composure and consider their options should the atmosphere become tense.
Time of Year Matters
The seasonal shifts can significantly impact your experience at Panorama. Linda Ford’s review emphasized that the end of the season can often lead to inflated prices and limited menu options. An awareness of the timing of your visit can greatly influence both your experience and expenditures.
Recommendations from Fellow Travelers
Before making a pit stop at Panorama, consider seeking out insights from trusted travel forums or reviews. Many travelers share their experiences to help others navigate the often-sticky situations, ensuring that future visitors can approach their outing with proper precautions.
Exploring Beyond the Balcony
While the Panorama Cafe & Bar might grab your attention, don’t forget to explore the vibrant surroundings and other nearby restaurants that might offer more reasonable prices and welcoming atmospheres. A little research can lead to unexpected culinary delights where you can enjoy both the food and hospitality.
Conclusion: A Visitor’s Choice
In conclusion, the Panorama Cafe & Bar certainly has its share of captivating views and unique offerings. Yet, the mixed reviews suggest that travelers should come prepared— both financially and mentally—to navigate the nuances of customer service and pricing. The decision to visit rests on individual preferences, but for those determined to experience the window seat of the square, a sense of adventure awaits!
Plan Wisely & Enjoy Responsibly
Ultimately, the key to a delightful visit lies in being well-informed. By understanding both the highs and lows, tourists can make educated choices about their dining experiences. With this knowledge in hand, embrace the local culture while maintaining your own comfort standards. Enjoy your travels!

Nice place, good beer in a welly… bit expensive but great view of the square sat up on a varander…they do shiska but very expensive as well… did not eat so cannot comment. .toilet is dirty not loo roll or soap and not cleaned for a while…
We were encouraged in off the street the meal we were given was very expensive for a plate of fish without bread salad – €85 with 2 beers. The waitress explained it was the end of the season so they could do a plate of fish or meat typical Greek to share. We were not told they didn’t take cards and said they would escort us to the ATM. If we had seen the other reviews on here we wouldn’t have gone in
Avoid this bar. Good view of the square though not 360. They only accept cash but don’t tell you that when you enter only when you come to pay. The bill was €17, we had no cash on us, the manager then got very aggressive and in your face demanding our passport details, I thought he was actually going to get physical. he then threatened us that we’d be arrested if we didn’t have our passports. I had to use a nearby bureau de change to draw cash and was charged nearly 4 euros for the privilege. The guy was awful, I’d avoid this place.
Avoid this bar, me and my partner stopped in for 1 drink, the card machine was broken and we only had our Apple Pay (we used Apple Pay everywhere else throughout the holiday) our bill was £17 we said we would transfer via online banking and the manager started being very aggressive demanding we leave our passport details. We said would obviously not leave our passport with a stranger in a foreign country! He was very aggressive would not let us get a word in edge ways telling us how much money he had in his bank account as if that means a thing in this situation! Avoid this place! ruined a amazing day and night we was having!
Looking at the last review posted before us aswell the exact same problem so it seems abit dodgey!!!
They wanted to pay us 11 euro more “by accident”… If you are not careful they will add anything to your bill.
The place is expensive and not worth it.
