Hotel located in very accessible area,Rooms were very small and dated, bed was hard but balcony had a picturesque view no complaints there!Service was lacking and breakfast was just ok
This was by far one of the best experiences we have had in a hotel. We got greeted very friendly and they were always at our disposal. The A/C was a little bit broken and they instantly changed our room and even upgraded us to a better room. Would really recommend again.
The hotel is in a great location, close to restaurants and has the best view ever. There are cute and comfortable seating areas on the veranda and the sunset was just beautiful right outside the hotel. The rooms are a bit dated but that doesn’t matter to us and we were not looking for luxury- there was more than enough room for the three of us and we had a balcony overlooking a little harbor which was amazing. The owner is very nice and we loved our stay here.
This by NA standards is a 1* although staff is friendly they were abrupt. Room below standard floor in bathroom dirty, no way to lock door to room (no deadbolt) just locks auto. Beds were terrible hard as rock. No waiter service around pool.our room was a kids room with kids beds and kiddie furniture. Hair dryer and room hasn’t been updated since the 60’s. Excuse we keep hearing “it’s end of season” Stay away.
Wow, what a bad experience!!
My wife and I and our 18-year-old daughter were put into a room that was designed for one double bed as evidenced by the built-in head board on the wall. The double bed had been removed and replaced with three (3) single beds that were jammed together with no space between them. In essence the whole family was sleeping in the same bed. That might work if our daughter was still a small child but as a young adult she is not interested in sleeping in the same bed as mom and dad. There was no one at reception to whom we could speak about the room – we checked numerous times.
By the time we could contact the travel-agency that booked the room for us it was after 6PM on a Sunday and they were closed. We stayed in the room for the night. It was July when we were there and here was an air conditioner in the room which was very welcome. However, the outside heat exchanger was located on the balcony and its fan blew the heat being removed from the room onto the seating area of the balcony which made it so hot we could not sit on the balcony and enjoy the nice view of the harbour and village. The thermostat on the unit indoors did not seem to work – despite setting it to 22C it blasted cold air onto the beds all night and we eventually had to turn the unit off and endure the heat.
The floors were filthy. To clean the floors they had been wet mopped without rinsing, which just spreads the dirt about so that it is uniformly distributed and hence less noticeable, but when one walked on the floor in bare feet the bottoms of one’s feet became covered with the dirt residue. The bathroom floor had been recently retiled, so the contrast between clean and dirty tile was very obvious.
The phone did not work. The wifi was sporadic and slow when it did work. There was no soap in the bathroom. The bathroom smelled mouldy, likely due to mould in the drains. There were no towel rails in the bathroom, so wet towels had to be draped over furniture in the room to dry.
Our travel agency got in touch with the hotel and we were assigned a different room which was in much better condition. But the air conditioner did not work. We told the grumpy man at reception (who we think is the owner). While we were out he checked the air conditioner and on our return told us emphatically that it was working. It was NOT working, and our room was hot for the rest of our stay, but at least the heat exchanger on the balcony was not blowing heat onto the seating area so we could sit outside in the evenings and enjoy the view.
There WERE some good things about this hotel. Breakfasts were good with a nice variety. It was close to the beach and the restaurants and bars along the beach. The hotel has an exceptional location and offers amazing sunrise and sunset view from its north (harbour) and west sides. However, there are many other hotels in the same area in the same price range or even lower that seem to have far better facilities and service. We are not coming back to this hotel and will be booking our own hotel next time we go to Paros.
** If you have a chance, go and explore the residential area behind those restaurants and bars. It is charming with whitewashed houses and we found a couple of small “garden” restaurants in there that are likely the places where the locals eat. Unfortunately we discovered these only on our last day and could not avail ourselves of their fare. Not far from the hotel, on the main strip, just next to the laudromat is a little bakery that is frequented by the early-morning locals who arevery friendly and it makes a good early start to one’s day**
