Ornos Beach

Discover the Allure of Ornos Beach

Welcome to Paradise

Welcome to Ornos Beach, an exquisite destination nestled in one of Greece’s most stunning islands, Mykonos. With its azure waters and vibrant atmosphere, Ornos Beach promises a captivating experience, making it a must-visit for every traveler seeking sun, sea, and relaxation.

A Hidden Gem

As Jose Sierra eloquently describes, Ornos Beach is somewhat off-the-beaten-path, requiring a quick cab ride to reach its pristine shores. This secluded charm enhances the allure, as visitors can enjoy a quieter, more tranquil experience compared to other busier locations on the island.

Beach Highlights

Here, you’ll find gorgeous sandy stretches adorned with shades and cabanas, creating a perfect retreat for those wishing to soak up the sun. A couple of delightful chiringuitos serve mouthwatering culinary offerings, making it easy to indulge in local flavors while lounging on the beach.

Touristy but Worth It

While it’s important to note that Ornos Beach is tailored to the tourist trade, resulting in higher prices and tourist-centric service, the experience it offers trumps the costs for many visitors. The consensus is clear: for a perfect beach day, Ornos is unbeatable.

A Curve in the Pricing

Prepare for the unexpected when it comes to pricing. As Russ O points out, securing a sunbed can range from 40 to 60 euros, especially for those seeking prime spots. This premium pricing reflects the unmatched experience and services available on this stunning beach.

Vendors and Sunshine

Despite the beach’s charm, visitors should be prepared for the relentless foot traffic from vendors selling their goods. This can be both a blessing and a curse—offering convenience but also a slight disruption to relaxation. However, many still find the beach and its views remarkable enough to overlook this minor headache.

Mixed Emotions on Luxury

Jess Glez shares mixed feelings about the beach’s transformation. While acknowledging the pristine water and sheltered ambiance reminiscent of a serene pool, she voices concern over the beach’s commercialization, which detracts from its original charm.

Versatility of the Beach

While the grandeur of beach clubs and luxurious sunbeds may seem overwhelming, Federica Lo Vaglio notes the picturesque presence of yachts, which lend a liveliness to the beach. Visitors can indulge in a high-energy atmosphere while enjoying the soothing sound of waves.

Perfect for Family Fun

Families can rejoice at the family-friendly atmosphere offered at Ornos Beach. Raphael Varisella highlights how convenient the beach is for families with children, offering exceptional service and quality amenities for a relaxing day by the sea.

A Breeze Away

Ornos Beach benefits from its location on the southern side of the island, providing a sheltered escape from the relentless northern winds that can occasionally disrupt other beaches. This feature draws sun-seekers looking to enjoy comfortable beach days all summer long.

Culinary Delights Await

Don’t miss the opportunity to taste the delicious offerings from nearby taverns and beach bars. Ornos’ vibrant culinary scene ensures that visitors can satisfy their appetites without straying far from the sandy shore.

Stunning Sunsets

As the day winds down, Ornos Beach offers breathtaking sunset views, transforming your day of beach relaxation into a magical evening alongside the shimmering sea. It’s not just a beach; it’s a backdrop for unforgettable moments with loved ones.

A Place for Reflection

While the bustling beach atmosphere may not appeal to everyone, it’s inescapable that Ornos Beach serves as a lively reminder of the island’s allure. Visitors often find themselves reflecting on their experiences, making it a place of both joy and contemplation.

Unforgettable Memories Await

In conclusion, Ornos Beach accommodates both relaxation and excitement, catering to a wide range of tourists. Whether you wish to lounge under the sun, indulge in local cuisine, or enjoy stunning views, Ornos promises an enchanting getaway that will stay in your heart long after your visit.

  1. What a phenomenal find! It’s a little off the beaten path – you’ll have to take a cab there – but it’s worth it for the pristine water and gorgeous beach. It’s quite populated, and you’ll see a lot of shades and cabanas, and a really nice chiringuito or two that serve up some really delicious fare.

Be advised: it is expensive. It’s very focused on the tourist trade and bringing in tourists so you’re going to see that reflected in the service and pricing. But it’s a million times better than many of the other beaches we went to and I would recommend it, especially if you only had time for a single beach.

  2. A little pricey 50 euros for front 2 rows and 40 euros 3rd row back but not bad for the day. Relentless foot vendors trying to sell you things all day long while you try to relax in your chairs. But overall great location and views and a few good restaurants

  3. I don’t even know where to start…
When did people lose their minds? 60 euros for sunbeds?
Also, a beach is a public space, but here 95% of it has been overtaken by this ridiculous sunbeds full of pretentious people that want to show off their money, but they are pile on top of each other as the “commoners” they try to avoid.
This makes me super sad, because the water is pristine and so beautiful, this beach is well sheltered from the northern winds and feels like being in a swimming pool.
They are destroying Mykonos if not already have, I’ll definitely won’t go back!

  4. This Beach is rich of beach clubs and restaurants. Nice but there are a lot of yachts parked here all day long. You cannot see the orizon due to all the boats. Water is clean but is not exactly sandy, there is a lot of gravel.

  5. Great little beach facing the south side of Ornos, especially lovely if it’s windy in Mykonos. A short 10 minute bus ride from Mykonos, drops you off right at the beach. An umbrella with 2 beach chairs runs €60-€70 for the entire day, cost depends on which row you want. It comes with food and drink service from the tavern behind it, decent prices considering the location. 2 adults and 2 toddlers had a fantastic time there for about 6 hours.
