  1. This is my first time being here in the Old Windmill Studios & I love it! Beautiful little place & run by a family of lovely, hard working people. Very welcoming, friendly & helpful. The rooms are nice & clean & have plenty of room inside. So many pretty plants, wind chimes & a big swimming pool as you walk in. The food is also amazing. Best food I have ever tasted. I would highly recommend. I will be back 100%! Thank you for making us feel so welcome ❤ x

  2. Initially, after arriving in the night, hot and overtired, I didn’t like it but changed my mind the next day.

The furniture is dated but does the job. Self-catering equipment is very basic, I wasn’t planning on cooking meals, so it was fine. Was able to have a cup of tea and snacks. Bedding wasn’t white Egyptian cotton but was clean and changed every 2 days. The towels weren’t luxurious, but they did the job quite nicely.
Air con is extra, so if you are going budget for it at €10 per day. The room itself was clean. Would have preferred a mattress protector under my sheet, but too tired to care. The shower was an old mixer type shower, but there was plenty of hot water and much better than my own smart shower at home.

It is situated next to a main road, but so are other hotels and restaurants, which can be noisy but is mostly drowned out by the sound of crickets and cicadas. Didn’t notice it after a while, and there was little noise from other guests. The pool was quiet. We often had use of it to ourselves, and there were always sunbeds free . There is a poolside cabinet of towels to use. I suspect they are ones other guests have left, but fine by me.

This is 2* to 3* accommodation and was a great base for a cheap holiday. I’m not sure I would take young children because of the road, but for older children and teens, it is great. Just what we needed. The pool made this holiday for us.

  3. Cheap and cheerful! The rooms are clean, they are very basic, but for the price that is fine, the garden and pool area are lovely, nice terrace bar, we found the staff to be pleasnt enough. Nice for a cheap getaway, short drive to a number of beautiful beaches and Faliraki.

  4. Terrible experience I don’t know were to start, firstly upon arrival staff were very rude. When I went to check in I get asked what do I want not hello how are you just what do you want. When I was taken to my room it was nothing like what was expected, when booking the room the advertised pictures was a spacious room with more than enough stuff for the month that we were staying here for. When I went to the owner about this she replied its not her fault she did not book the room and that the pictures advertised were 10 years old.

Now upon my inspection of the room I had found that the fridge was disgusting full of dirt and mould which was disgusting and also the mirror in the bathroom was disgusting and we had no hot water in the shower and considering we stayed here for a month due to working in Faliraki this was not acceptable. When I brought these problems to the owner she stated we should not have booked here and should have booked an Airbnb. We would not have booked this if they had not falsely advertised it to look like and Airbnb stating that it had all the amenities we needed to stay here.

To top the room of they then wanted €10 a night for aircon which was stated as free aircon when we booked so for the month we were staying would have cost €310 for cold air. The WIFI also reaches no further than the reception

I have no good words for this place or the staff and will never book a room here again and would strongly advise others not too

  5. Checked in and paid the extortionate €10/day rate for aircon. Go to room and got offered 0 assistance with luggage, moving across the site, until he saw we were visibly struggling with the stairs and then reluctantly helped and had the nerve to look for a tip.

Room was very dated on 1st viewing but we had expected cheap and cheerful so not overly surprised. Started to unpack, bathroom light didn’t work. Very very little clothes storage of any sort, not suitable for 3 adults and the wardrobe had about 5 hangers, which all looked like.previous guests had left them as 1 was a lingerie hanger and 1 was for a child. Penny pinching on basics! Fridge was warm as they hadnt switched it on, not ideal when we had stuff ready to go in it and had been delayed arriving anyway! Penny pinching in the extreme. Bathroom cabinet/shelf very loose on wall. Owner came and fiddled with light and made it work, at which point we also mentioned that the aircon didn’t appear to be functioning correctly (unit was very old). We were told it had been serviced the week before and it was fine. At €10 a day, we expected the aircon to be able to run to keep the apartment cool for our return when out. Nope. Went off when you removed the electric card which was welded to the room key.

We’d had a long delay flying in and spent a very uncomfortable 1st night with rock hard beds and a ration of 1 pillow per person, which were also wafer thin, the aircon still not working properly, only cooling about 2m2 of the room. Just not fit for purpose.

Aircon again reported next morning and the lady owner said she would call svc company out. Spent some time by the pool, which is actually.a very nice area and clean, only to realise that the parasols that were not broken were a mesh material and offered zero shade or protection against the sun. Went back to room and realised nothing to hang wet swimwear on, no clothes horse, nor small line.

Aircon reported again next morning and owner promised it would be looked at today. Tried to book the 7pm bbQ dinner advertised on a board outside. Snapped at, no BBQ. (This board remained unchanged outside for the next 8 days we were in Faliraki so can only assume they were trying to lure people in on false advert hoping they’d stay and eat anyway)

After an evening out I sat at the terrace bar for a last drink, spoiled by a group of girls in the room above the reception/bar area shouting and screaming for about 30 mins, this late at night. This attracted some random drunk bloke from the road who approached me and made me very uncomfortable. Owners sat at other end of bar terrace and did nothing about either the noise or the random drunk . So much for looking after your guests!

Aircon again reported on day 3 and owner said engineer was at hospital with his son but would turn up later that day. Didn’t happen

We had a lie in the next day and while we were asleep the cleaner let herself in, and rather than then leave, decides to carry on anyway. This was the final straw and we found alternative accommodation. We stripped the beds, as we always do on vacating and that’s when we saw how grim the beds and pillows were, stained and yellow, no mattress protector
On checking out, the owner was very aggressive, asking why and then ignoring what we said anyway. When asked for a refund for unused days of aircon payment she threw it across the counter at me and then made sarcastic comments as i left.

Just vile, dated, dirty and very unfriendly

We expected cheap n cheerful but got a hovel ripping off its guests

1star is 1 too many. Avoid.

Edit to add that we were given no warning of the rolling blackouts, which would’ve been a 10 second thing to do. We understood that they were due to the fires, but a heads up would’ve been nice. We also had no water on 1 day so we’re unable to wash, which they again blamed on the fires…but the other businesses in the area had water
