  1. The surroundings are beautiful and it’s astonishing what they’ve done with the place, especially after hearing the story of the location from one of their staff members.
We were immediately sat at a table for dinner despite having no booking, which was great having in mind how busy it got eventually.
The front of house team offered brilliant service and were knowledgable and very attentive. Drinks and food menus were extensive with good selection, suitable for various dietary requirements, although dishes catered to a more sophisticated palate overall.
The restaurant is entirely open-air and can get quite windy, but we were offered blankets and it was nothing unbearable, just something we didn’t expect, having in mind how warm it was in town.
    Worth the visit!

  2. I couldn’t recommend this restaurant more highly. The food is exceptional and very reasonably priced, the setting is beautiful in the courtyard of a 15th century medieval mansion and all the staff are so attentive and friendly, the whole experience from start to finish is just amazing.

  3. Bit of a weird one this night. Booked on a Monday night so it was quite quiet which brings me to my first issue – there was no atmosphere. Maybe about 6 other tables located near to us, but it was like everyone was afraid to speak it was so quiet. On quiet nights like this the music could be a bit louder to boost the ambience I think. Moving on 🙂

We were sat and ordered within probably 5 minutes which was great! Drinks were served and were delicious – however, every table around us was served their food before us. We thought this was a little strange, finished our drinks and ordered more from the same waitress that took our order – gave her the benefit of the doubt that perhaps there was a delay in the kitchen. However, as my boyfriend and I were lost in conversation, it soon appeared to me that we had been waiting for …one whole hour… for baked feta and roasted sourdough bread. As I mentioned the restaurant was so quiet, how could this happen?

Flagged this anyway and received apologies and within 5 minutes our food came. I shouldn’t have had to flag this though. I only just left the hospitality industry in April of this year, where I was a restaurant supervisor of a Michelin Star Japanese restaurant in Ireland. It’s not the customers job to flag this. If the restaurant was busy I’d say fair enough, but with only about 6 other tables… and about 3/4 members of staff… how did no one realise.

Food was amazing as were the main courses, with the sea bass being the nicest fish either of us had ever tried. Then we ordered another round of drinks, and they didn’t come for 15/20 minutes. There was only about 3 other tables left at this stage. Sigh. We got a bit annoyed then understandably that they were basically after delaying us 1hr 20 minutes total of the evening, keeping us waiting, and at this stage we just wanted to leave and get faster service elsewhere.

Apologies were made, some explanation was given, all the staff were so kind, and who I’m led to believe was the manager told us our drinks would be free which was lovely, but all in all neither delays should have happened on such. A. Quiet. Night.

Such a shame because the food was amazing, and the staff were so so kind. So I’m still confused as to what actually went on that night.

  4. The atmosphere of Nomad is absolutely amazing. One of the prettiest places I’ve ever had dinner. The staff was also very friendly and hands on.

I ordered a Greek Spritz cocktail that was delicious. My fiancée and I shared some bread as a starter. Was okay, but would have been perfect if it came with some tzatziki for example. Now only came with some olive oil and butter, which was fine.

As a main I had the lobster pasta. Tasted absolutely amazing, but did find a hair in my food (one of the reasons for the 4 stars). The staff handled this perfectly and took this dish of the bill and apologised multiple times. My fiancée ordered the rib eye steak, medium rare. It came more well done than medium rare, but still tasted great.

We skipped dessert because we were rather full due to the big portions.

Would definitely recommend. Nomad could however still improve by putting a bit more energy in/attention to the quality of the food rather than the aesthetics.
