Popular Yet Bustling: Come Prepared
While Nick the Grill is popular for good reason, be prepared for busy periods during peak hours. Souvik RoyChoudhury advises that seating may be challenging at times, suggesting takeaway as an alternative. Arrive early to secure your spot and savor every moment of your culinary journey!
Local Brews with Caution
Guests should also be aware of local drink prices. Souvik mentions that some local beers, like Blue Monkey, can be quite pricey. A known tip is to explore non-alcoholic options or enjoy a refreshing glass of water with your meal to keep the costs down without missing out on the experience.
An Enchanting Outdoor Atmosphere
While the main dining area can get crowded, Nick the Grill offers lovely outdoor seating. Visitors who have had the chance to relax under the evening sky appreciate the beautiful breeze and ambiance as they enjoy their meals. It’s the perfect backdrop for a delightful evening in Fira.
When the Show Isn’t Quite Right: An Honest Review
While most guests rave about the food, some like Heidy Laboy offer mixed feelings about the accompanying entertainment. A late show and cramped waiting area can dampen the experience. It’s recommended to check the timing and seating options to ensure you enjoy your night fully.
Finding Better Authenticity Elsewhere?
For those seeking a truly authentic Greek dining experience, Rob Vander Sloot advises venturing outside the tourist traps of Fira. While Nick the Grill provides solid options, exploring less crowded areas could lead to discovering hidden gems boasting unmatched localized flavors.
The Platter for Two: Share the Joy!
For those dining with a friend or partner, AB recommends ordering the platter for two. This budget-friendly option at 29 euros offers generous portions and a chance to sample different dishes. The chicken gyro alone is worth trying, bursting with flavor and grilled to perfection.
Salad Presentation: Room for Improvement
One suggestion from AB involves the presentation of the salad in the platter. Mixing the ingredients better would enhance the overall enjoyment, making it easier to share. This highlights the attention to detail that can truly elevate a dining experience, prompting Nick the Grill to consider minor adjustments.
Great Location: Right in the Heart of Fira
Another appealing aspect of Nick the Grill is its prime location. Situated in the bustling center of Fira, visitors can easily access this eatery after a day of exploring the island. The convenience ensures you can indulge in delicious food without straying far from the action.

Halal chicken, lamb and hot dog. Lovely staff in particular the gentleman at the restaurant floor, helping out, explaining the menu and keeping the seating area clean and tidy. Good prices and quality food. One of the best gyros. A must.
Food is great you will get enough quantity. Everything is fresh I didn’t find anything served from previous day unsold leftovers.
The only problem during rush hour you won’t get place to sit, then perhaps you might consider for takaway. Be careful for local beer eg. Blue monkey they are really expensive.
The show was super loud. The food was not enough for dinner. It was a greek salad , crackers, bread, dipping sauce, 2 pieces of watermelon. Wine was supposed to be unlimited, but it ended up being 2 very small glasses like shot glasses. They do not seat early. You have to wait in a crowded hallway that is very hot. And then when you think you are about to be seated, the beginning of the show is in a small room that is not air conditioned either, and you are standing for 20 mins in a very cramped space.. And if you are short, forget seeing anything.Thankfully, when you are seated and can relax, it is outside seating with a wonderful breeze. This is not worth the price. Many people left early because it was such a late show. It starts at 9:30 pm and goes on until 11:30 pm.
Very disappointing. The pita wrap with lamb gyros was comparable to what I get at home, and very mediocre compared to what I’ve had outside of Fira. The chicken skewer & fries were decent. And I know this is personal taste, but the generic American gen-z music really removes any last hint of authentic Greece.
Recommendation: If you want more authentic Greek food, get outside of the main touristy areas of Fira.
Great location – at the centre of Fira. We came here because it was halal. We got the platter for two and it was definitely a huge portion for 29euros. The chicken gyro was really good but everything else was ok. One thing that could have been done better is mixing the salad underneath cause it was difficult to enjoy the way it was laid out.
