To avoid this, plan your visit for early or late in the day, allowing for a more relaxed experience surrounded by natural beauty.

12. Be Aware of Wind and Weather

Weather conditions can significantly impact your enjoyment and safety. Visitors are reminded to be cautious, especially during windy days. As Stuarty Boy warned, “Make sure it is not the last photo you take,” highlighting the importance of mindful exploration. Always check the forecast before embarking on your adventure!

  1. What a beautiful place! The coulors are fantastic!

You can see the shipwreck from the viewpoint, or you can walk about five minuts out on the cliff to see it. Remember good shoes. The trail is rocky.

Its also a small shop here to by ice cream and local treats.

  2. We drove here on dune buggy’s that we hired for the day. Parked further up the road and walked down.
There is drinks and snacks available here.
There is no toilets in this area at all.

It was slightly busy. The first official viewpoint there was maybe 10 people in front of us. Then there was a couple literally doing a photo shoot and taking ages, lots of people were getting annoyed as they took so long. If everyone just respected time, got some photos and moved on, like normal people would. By time we were at front there was a very long queue, maybe 30-40 now behind us, due to the time wasters 🤦🏻‍♂️

We walked out to the far end for the best views. This can be dangerous. Definitely do not go here in sliders or flip flops. The ground is very uneven and not safe for walking on, unless wearing trainers or hiking boots.

We got photos at various places along the edge. Obviously this is very dangerous so you must be careful and always know your limits. Be careful of weather and winds too.
Make sure it is not the last photo you take – as it is a long way down that you will not survive.

  3. Navagio Beach Viewpoint is an absolute must-visit if you’re in Zakynthos! The panoramic view of the iconic shipwreck and the turquoise waters below is truly breathtaking. The cliffs are steep and majestic, giving you a sense of paradise as you take in the beauty of the scene.

The viewpoint is well-marked, and there are several spots where you can safely enjoy the view. However, it can get crowded, especially during peak tourist season, so I recommend arriving early to get the best spot. If you’re into photography, bring a good camera because the lighting and scenery are perfect for capturing unforgettable shots.

One thing to note is that there are no barriers at some of the edges, so be cautious, especially if you’re traveling with kids. Despite this, the experience is 100% worth it.

Navagio Beach Viewpoint offers one of the most spectacular views you’ll ever see… an experience you’ll cherish for a lifetime!

  4. The one place where you can get a decent view from land on the Shipwreck. Be aware at our time of visit the road towards the viewpoint was closed off by police, supposedly out of fear for wildfires. A lot of tourist take the ‘scenic’ route down (a few 100 meters out of sight of the police you can get down anyway). The positive of it being closed down is that you Won’t have to stand in a 50 person line to get to the one spot where you can see the shipwreck. You have the whole place to yourself and about 5/10 other people. But wow… The place is rundown. It’s almost as if the wildfire scare is just an excuse and they’re actually afraid of landslides and just want to make this place completely unavailable to all tourists for ever: the snack/drinks bar has been abandoned (chairs, freezers, beach umbrellas etc still around dumped on 1 heap). The monument for the person who fell of the Cliff has been destroyed?? Tons and tons of warning signs telling you to get away. It’s almost looking as if this place Won’t be open for tourists for long whether there’s a wildfire scare or not. We also encountered a stray cat hiding in the shadow of the abandoned building who was missing its nose. Very sad sight.

  5. Unreal view, 5 minute walk to the best viewpoint over sharp rocks so best to be in sneakers, there was a queue to get in the set up photo spot before you start the walk and this view is no where near as good (as you can see in second photo)
