An Experience Like No Other: Honeymoon Bliss
“I and my wife were on our honeymoon and fancied something different,” describes Daniel Howell, a delighted visitor to Nami. He shares about his epic Korean BBQ experience where they cooked their own food right at the table, creating a hands-on and engaging dining experience that left them mesmerized. According to him, it was the best meal they have ever eaten. A visit to Nami is not just about eating; it’s about crafting memorable moments.
A Flavorful Experience with Room for Improvement
While Daniel’s review shines with praise, Mia Cohen-Laor’s experience adds a balanced perspective. She commended the delicious sushi and amazing gyoza but noted a minor hiccup with the thickness of the BBQ meat. This feedback reminds us that while Nami delivers delightful dining experiences, ongoing attention to detail in food preparation can enhance the overall enjoyment.
Stunning Views and Inviting Atmosphere
As Min Sheng Lu points out, Nami presents an inviting atmosphere that complements its culinary offerings. The decor, combined with views over the beach and sunsets, makes for a visually stunning setting. However, he mentions that the experience was marred by service issues. It’s a reminder that while stunning surroundings are essential, attentive service can elevate a good meal to a great one.
A Taste of the Orient: Sushi and BBQ Paradise
Imagine savoring authentic Korean BBQ and sushi crafted to tantalize your taste buds. Jozef Bárta praises Nami for its fresh food and entertaining grill experience. He encourages visitors to embrace the fun of cooking at the table and emphasizes the delightful experience it creates for friends. The camaraderie and laughter shared over sizzling food promise a joyous dining atmosphere.
Restaurant Review: The Good and the Bad
With both praise and criticism, Trond Hammeraas captures the duality of the Nami experience. On one hand, he speaks fondly of the amazing food and vibrant atmosphere; on the other, he outlines serious service shortcomings that detracted from the evening. It’s noteworthy that while every dish can dazzle, the service experience can make or break a dining adventure.
The Sushi that Steals Hearts
Nami’s sushi has garnered significant attention, with visitors lauding the high-level taste and balance in each roll. Trond notes some rolls could be tighter, but ultimately, the culinary expertise of the chef shines through. For sushi lovers, this is an essential stop on your gastronomic adventure, promising flavors that linger long after the meal.
Service Matters: A Valued Component
Despite the ups and downs shared in reviews, the importance of attentive service cannot be overstated. Visitors like Trond and Min Sheng highlight how service can significantly influence the overall dining experience. It’s a crucial aspect for potential visitors to consider, knowing that even the finest food may not suffice if the service is lacking.

Wow, what an experience, me and my wife on our honeymoon fancied something a little diffrent. Got to Namis and wow, service amazing couldn’t of helped anymore, the food, we had the Korean bbq experience and it was epic. Cooking your food on the grill and eat when it’s ready. Best meal me an my wife have ever eaten. Would highly recommend
We got korean bbq, it was good but they cut all the meat a bit too thick so it was hard to eat it. Other then that it was ok and the service was good. The sushi and gyoza were amazinggg
The Good:
I like the setting, the decor, the barbeque and the sushi boat, and the view over the beach and sunset is great.
The Not so good:
the service and the food. There were eight of us and we felt we were being hurried out all the time we were there. They are busy and trying to turn covers to maximize their revenue which is understandable, but taking a table of two away when we have not finished, really?
We had two sashimi and sushi special as well as the barbeque meat set menu. I have had a lot of Japanese and Korean food in my 25+ years of business travel in Asia, while not a conniseour I do know what good looks like. The beef cuts are too thick and tough, and some of the salmon toro and tuna sashimi cuts are so stringy that we had to tease them out from our teeth. The manager explained that all the fish is freshly caught, and that the cuts come of the belly, which i did not find convincing. But most of their sushi is ok, so three stars.
Overall if you want a taste of the orient not a bad place to go to, but not what I would call a great experience.
A little bit overpriced due to low competition, but really nice fresh food, nice serving and funny grill. Definitely fun for friends, and need to visit this spot.
Summary, amazing food, a good 2 km walk from Ixia, beautiful location and terrible service. If I had the behavioral of the maître d in my staff, she’d be fired the same day!
Our story with this restaurant starts 5 years ago, the summer before the world shut down.
Not sure when the restaurant opened, but we had the pleasure to meet a humble man, who seemed to be a globetrotter , and he presented himself as the owner.
Atmosphere was electric, Korean BBQ and the sushi was top notch.
Waiters were observant, polite and effective. You could see they were trained to “sweep the area” to seek the customers attention.
I placed a review on this restaurant about a week ago, and today it was rock bottom.
Firstly, the Sushi is amazing. The sushi rolls have a high level of taste and well balanced. Some rolls are a bit too big for my taste, and could be “tighter rolled”. Kudos to the chef(s)
And now comes the bad review. Please don’t get me wrong, I’m far off high maintenance, but I travel around 150 days a year in my line of work, so I’ve seen a few restaurants in my life.
We tried to book a table, please see attached log file picture ,we finally got reservation, 2 days after our request. And we specifically request where not to be seated.
Arrived the restaurant punctual as per the reservation, and guess what? We were seated at the one tables we didn’t want to sit. The blonde dyed lady who I guess is the maître d, was extremely condescending when I showed the reservation and said “there is nothing I can do” and walked away shaking her head like I had done something wrong.
The restaurant had 4 guests on our arrival. After a bit back and forth, we were seated at another table. From that point, she even made it worse. It’s a shame, because our son and his girlfriend joined us for this experience. Our son has worked as a certified waiter at a Michelin star restaurant. We wanted to show him the experience we once had with Nami.
We felt the maître d did what she could for us not to have an even worse experience and the waiters never checked in at our table. when we god their attention, they smiled and was polite. But never did they come and ask if we needed anything else or if they could do anything for us.
