Mythical Coast Wellness Retreat
Welcome to Mythical Coast Wellness Retreat: A Mixed Bag of Experiences
Welcome to the Mythical Coast Wellness Retreat, a destination that promises relaxation and rejuvenation in a picturesque setting. Located near beautiful beaches and surrounded by natural beauty, this retreat is marketed as a five-star experience. However, potential visitors should be cautious as the reviews tell a different story. Let’s dive into what you might expect when you arrive.
First Impressions: A Rocky Start
Upon arrival at Mythical Coast, the welcoming atmosphere is crucial, but several guests have reported unkind interactions with staff, setting a less-than-ideal tone for their stay. Try to manage your expectations; while some experiences may start well, others may begin on a sour note.
The Grand Suite: A Disappointing Illusion
Picture this: You’re excitedly checking into the “Grand Suite,” only to find a room lacking basic amenities. Reviewers noted inadequate storage space, a lack of kitchenware, and even a shared balcony. The illusion of luxury can quickly shatter, particularly when guests feel deceived by promotional claims.
Amenities: Falling Short
While it’s fun to anticipate luxurious amenities, many visitors have lamented the amateurish state of some facilities. Shared resources like tiny swimming pools and limited in-room comforts leave much to be desired, leading guests to question the retreat’s five-star rating.
Breakfast: A Culinary Catastrophe
Breakfast is touted as an essential start to the day, but many reviews highlighted disappointment with the offerings. Ranging from spoiled fruit to a lack of traditional Greek options, it seems the morning meal has not made a good impression. Guests lamented the absence of real quality and variety in the breakfast spread.
Service: A Game of Roulette
From rude encounters to chaotic room cleaning schedules, the service quality fluctuates widely at Mythical Coast. Some staff members were friendly and welcoming, while others seemed indifferent, leaving guests with mixed feelings about the overall atmosphere.
Guest Experiences: A Tale of Two Stays
While some guests enjoyed their stay and appreciated the outdoor pool and great location near the beach, others walked away feeling betrayed and uncomfortable. The stark contrast in individual experiences may warrant caution for potential guests looking for a seamless vacation.
Location: More Isolation than Anticipated
While the resort is positioned not far from the beach, guests have shared that everything else is a significant distance away. Lacking convenient local options, including restaurants, visitors may find themselves relying on costly taxi rides or limited hotel transfers, reducing the allure of a beachside getaway.
The Facilities: Other Amenities Worth Mentioning
While the outdoor pool is a highlight, indoor facilities leave some guests feeling misled. Access to the spa and indoor pool often comes with hidden fees that take away from the luxurious experience that was promised upon booking.
The Gym: A Minimal Experience
For fitness enthusiasts, the call of a gym is enticing, but many reported that the workout facilities resemble an afterthought. Minimal equipment and unfinished areas may not meet the expectations set by the hotel’s marketing, discouraging guests from engaging in their fitness routines.
Wi-Fi Woes: Connectivity Issues
In an age reliant on technology, decent Wi-Fi is a must-have for many guests. Unfortunately, some visitors mentioned unreliable internet access, complicating their stay and leading to frustration at a retreat where digital connectivity should ideally be readily available.
Safety and Security Concerns
Safety is paramount when vacationing; unfortunately, the lack of a solid security presence contributed to unease among guests. Many expressed concern over the absence of staff attentiveness, highlighting the need for improved protocols to ensure visitor safety.
The Feedback Loop: Voicing Concerns
Guests who voiced their dissatisfaction often felt unheard, leading to significant frustrations. Notably, some felt that their complaints were met with hostility rather than assistance. Open communication can make or break a guest’s experience, and some reviews shed light on the need for improvement in this area.
A Chance for Improvement
Despite the glaring issues, some guests remained optimistic that the retreat could improve. Acknowledging visitor feedback might pave the way for better amenities and services that truly deserve a five-star accolade.
Conclusion: The Choice is Yours
Ultimately, the Mythical Coast Wellness Retreat is a double-edged sword. With stunning views and potential for relaxation, it may allure some guests, but the experiences shared by others serve as a strong cautionary tale. If you’re seeking a tranquil vacation, consider your options wisely. Happy traveling!

Hell on earth. Pretend to be 5 stars hotel, with “luxurious” “suites” but revealed as a bad hostel. We made a reservation for the GRAND SUITE (grand sh1t) for more than 300$ per night for 3 nights, but we got a poor room: No storage place for clothes in the room; No bath 🛀🏻 , only shower 🚿 ; A shared balcony with the next room; Very poor amenities; Very basic shampoo and soap (like in a 3 stars hotel); No bellboy; No concierge; No security at the hostel; No waiters at the lobby; Very tiny swimming pool;
The so called “Grand Suite” didn’t offer even forks, knives or glasses for wine, not to speak about the empty fridge… or the absence of bottles opener..; The sofa was like of the poorest guesthouses in India 🇮🇳; The shuttle service which was promised from the airport was revealed as a big nothing..; The staff was RUDE !!!!; The welcoming experience was awful 😢;No espresso machine in the “suite” 😳; the breakfast was shameful : no espresso, no traditional Greek food, no smoked salmon, no fresh bread, no mineral water, no menu, just rotten fruits and a disastrous service!!!!
Look at the pictures attached!!!!!!
As we complained to the management about our awful experience and sent them the draft of this review they expelled us from the hostel !!!!!! We were left abandoned in the streets without a place to sleep in!!!! Many-many guests made a big demonstration at the lobby because of the bad facilities and the hostile service but it was seemed that the staff was used to it.
The breakfast was awful; maybe refugees would have been satisfied with it.
It is a 3rd-world-country-hostel and this place is even worse than this!
Even before we got our room we started crying at the lobby, as we understood we arrived in HELL !!!!
To pay 300$ per night for such a torture is unacceptable!!!!
It’s not about the money but our vacation was ruined because of this situation. After one night of tortures, we found other hotel which was great.
If you want to get a jungle vacation, and you don’t want to fly to Africa, you should go to this place !!!!!
First off, this might be the only five star hotel on the island, therefore, credit must be given. The hotel is really nice. We especially loved the outdoor pool area. The rooms are great. We spent two great nights there with our little baby. All the amenities are available. The beach is right across the street and the hotel has sea beds available. There are indoor and outdoor pools; both great. You can even rent cars. The only downside was the breakfast. We believe there could have been more choice considering that this is a five-star hotel. One thing that was annoying was the coffee machine not working. We couldn’t get coffee on the first morning. But the night time outside by the pool was amazing.
Mythical coast, more like MEDIOCRE COAST. Advertised as a 5 star retreat, my partner and I were expecting a luxurious getaway travelling for a wedding in the area. However, we left disappointed and could not justify the prices we paid for what we received. Objectively, this was our experience summarised:
Rooms
– Finishes to the room overall not reflective of a 5 star hotel. Painting unfinished, some lights didn’t work, mirror was cheap and tiny, TV is small and not a smart TV with limited channels
– little room to store suitcases and only a couple hangers
– 1 iron for the entire resort. Good luck ironing your shirt.
– no where to hang wet clothes on the balcony
– safe didn’t work
– no wine glasses or cutlery
– no “do not disturb” sign
Service
– there seems to be no system in place at all for cleaning. There is no do not disturb hangers to put out on doors. Cleaners can come at any point during the day. One day the cleaners woke us up in the morning and another day they came late in the afternoon. Some days the cleaners don’t come at all and if they did, they didn’t always provide new towels.
– our items were moved around after the cleaners had come in which was concerning as we had valuables in the room and the safe did not work
– some staff members were nice, others looked as though they didn’t want to be there.
– we requested a late checkout (1-2pm instead of 12pm) and were told this would cost 50 euro extra. Although I’m sure this is their procedure, it leaves a sour taste in your mouth that they are not willing to accomodate your needs when spending all this money.
Location
– advertised as an “unbeatable location”, this couldn’t be further from the truth. Hotel is approximately 15-20min from the city centre and nearest restaurants by car. You are virtually stranded at the hotel and forced to take taxis to and from for 15-20 euro each way everyday. Not to mention Mythical coast take a cut for calling a taxi.
– the hotel does offer a 8:30am drop off and 6:00pm pickup. This is not nearly enough, there should be more transfers available.
– the beach in front of the hotel is nothing to write home about. If you want to go to the beach, you’ll need to get a taxi further down.
Facilities
– don’t be fooled by the “pools” (plural) on the website. There is one outdoor pool which is decent and one indoor pool. However, they fail to mention that you can’t access the indoor pool unless you pay extra for the spa treatments. Not what you expect in a 5 star hotel…
– the term “gym” can be used pretty loosely. A cable machine, some free weights and a couple treadmills. Happy there was a “gym” but don’t expect anything special. This area is designed like an after thought. Tiles not grouted, shower incomplete, signs are just paper, etc…
Breakfast
– in line with this review, breakfast is mediocre. Having eaten around the island, the breakfast at the hotel does not even come close.
– the food is not always hot
– the coffee is shocking
– they often ran out of cutlery, specifically knives
– you had to ask for water specifically
– overall average, not 5 star…
Within 5 minutes of checking in, the staff requested us to leave a positive review… concerning… we hadn’t even seen our room yet.
I hope the team can use this to better the experience for others as I think there is potential. If the hotel was advertised and prices as 3 star, we’d be happy with our stay.
Until they make some changes or reduce their prices, you’re better off staying in the city centre and avoiding the headaches.
**THIS IS NOT A 5 STARS HOTEL**
Worst than hostel i’ve ever been at, It is a fraud!
Hairs on the bed and food.
The Spa cost every minute like in Vegas.
Cleaning and maintenance were the worst I ever saw in my life
Bad Wifi at the rooms
There isnt nothing around, except one taverna that got us sick (not fresh)
No normal shuttle service to the city, must have car cause texi cost 17 euro each way ( 15 minutes driving)
No refund if you wanna leave
The team were nice but the boss didn’t want to speak with us although we approach her.
We dont understand why does it called wellness and retreat, everything is from plastic and not calm or natural, even the only three flowers at the lobby.
I most say that all the other hotels we’ve been in this island (even 2 stars) were better than this.
**THIS IS NOT 5 STARS HOTEL**
We stayed one night at this beautiful hotel due to our flight being cancelled, and despite several last minute bookings, the management were extremely welcoming and accommodating. The location is perfect for the view of the sea and in a quiet location outside of town. The suite we had was stunning with amazing air conditioning (needed!) and we enjoyed the room service especially the salads and lamb burger. There’s a nice outdoor pool with very loud pop music playing, which may not be to everyone’s taste but our young child found it amazing! Nothing was too much trouble including arranging a very late checkout as we had a night replacement flight, and transfer to the airport by the hotel. The only surprises were that quite a few staff members did not speak any English (unusual for 5*!) and despite booking a suite there was a steep fee to use the inside pool and spa facilities.
