the nature and beauty of this place cannot be described if it is not experienced. we arrived by local boat – taxi for 4 euros per person in one direction. I didn’t like the only bar on this beach because the prices in the middle of September were high (30 euros for a sunbed and an umbrella, 5.5 euros for a frappe) and an unfriendly young man working there…
Nice beach to visit.
The path to the beach is over the mountain around 1200 feet (500 feet going upwards, then 100-200 feet straight, then the rest downwards). If you decide to go for the hike, my advise is to bring sandals/espadriles/even sneakers, and not flip flops. It is not ao dramatic as I read from other reviews. If you don’t want to hike, you can take the boat from Agios Nikitas (and the other way around) for 4 EUR per person. For the way back from the beach at around 5 PM, there was a long line of people waiting for the boat, but it was frequent on 10-15 minutes, so it was going fast.
Else, the beach is with sand, gravel and small stones, so walking with bare feet is managable. There is a free area to use, but also sunbeds for 40 EUR for the whole day (2 sunbeds with a sun umbrella). There is a bar up on the hill, but you have to quite walk there.
The water of course is perfect, Turquoise blue and very clean! We had waves today, but still perfect!
There was garbage on the beach itself and on the way there, which was the only minus. So in case you go there, make sure to bring a bag/plastic bag and take the trash with you on your way home, so we keep it clean!
Nice beach, worth the view, worth the hike!
We visited in early September. You hike to the beach from Agios Nikitas or take a boat from Agios Nikitas beach. The day we visited no boats were running due to big waves.
I recommend wearing trainers for the 20 minute hike (no sandals or flip flops). 10 mins up and 10 mins down through a forest. Be careful due to uneven and sometimes slippery ground. The hike is fun (if you like that sort of thing) and has beautiful photo opportunities.
It’s a beautiful beach with blue water, plenty of space, a small cafe, some sunbeds and umbrellas can be rented but mostly unorganised. The waves were really big when I visited and many people were struggling to get in/out the water. We visited the beach at 0830 and were the first ones there which was magical. Enjoy!
Beautiful pebble sand beach. Great location. The path is full with garbage. You can take the boat to go there from Agios Nikitas with 4 euros. The beach bar there is empty and the person on the afternoon is just there for decoration
Super expensive, crowded and hard to get there.
So the beach is nice but you need to do a strong hike in the heat to get there or pay expensive boat. When you arrive there a sunbed is minimum 30€, a beer 6€. And still a lot of people there. I cannot recommend but maybe still better then the beaches around there…
