Really bad experience. Got my locked bag broken into whilst sleeping in the dorm bed 102 between hours of midnight to 4.30am. The tsa lock was hacked at and my purse and entire contents of nearly 500 euro taken. I did not use locker as my bag was locked. Be very careful here. Lots of people staying here that looked dodgy, and lots of workers from third world countries. Whoever did this had tools as the metal was heavily cut. Did anyone see someone walk around with my distinctive purple bag in from late evening to early morning on the 27th May. Or anyone with a navy and white stiped silver clip purse with a navy anchor on. The lock was smashed so in order to do this someone took my bag outside the dorm to smash it. Hostel would of seen on camera as it could be one of the cleaners/workers, as they were always about as well as a couple of others in the dorm. Did anyone see anything at all? My baggage is unusual as its not made or sold in many countries. Purse came from Croatia so this is unique as well.
Also dorm advertised for 10 beds is a lie. It’s about a 40 bed dorm. It smells very bad in there also. Very claustrophobic place indeed. My bed in the photos had to be crawled into. Staff turned off lights at 10.30pm.
Location was useful.
The individual private rooms are tiny, but it’s one of the best options in terms of value for money in Mykonos
Location is great just next to the town and next to a 24/7 convenience store
Has a little common area with a small pool and a great view
Hostel is located in such great spot! So close to the beach, bars and restaurants and it’s only an 8 minute drive to the port
We were kindly upgraded from a shared dorm room to a private room which was great. However if we had paid for the private room we would have been disappointed- the doors to the bedroom are very lightly frosted and you can see almost everything if walking past on the outside & can get very noisy at night. Inside the bedroom there is also only glass between the bed & bathroom & no private area for the toilet, there is no ventilation in the rooms either.
The fact that this was a last minute stay that was affordable, as a result of a cancelled ferry is the only thing keeping it from being a 1 star review.
The private rooms are tiny. For one person its passable, however good luck if you’re over 5”9 and enjoy privacy. Doors are frosted and barely fit the doorway, you have no ventilation or sound proofing. Our first room had no working air conditioning. After telling reception they came across upset that we complained, but it was clear they knew it was broken. We were moved to a room across the hall with good air conditioning in a slightly darker corner, but the smell of drains was so strong, we could barely breathe unless the room was frozen.
Pros: comfy beds, great location, affordable and bearable for one night
Cons: please reread the above
