Automated Convenience: Expectations vs. Reality
Upon arrival, one might expect a lively atmosphere, but many visitors describe Montán 24h Bar as more of a vending machine than a traditional bar. Reviewers have noted that it consists solely of an automated machine. This raises the question: is it a bar or simply a convenience stop?
The Vending Machine Experience

A Lesson in Caveat Emptor
Visitor SY T shared a frustrating experience where their €2 coin was swallowed by the machine without delivering the drink. This incident highlights the need for caution when purchasing snacks or drinks from this automated establishment.
An Attractive Stop for Refreshments
Despite the criticisms, many patrons have praised Montán 24h Bar for its cold drinks and reasonable prices. Adrianna Weisbeck mentioned the refreshing options and the affordability, making it a tempting stop for weary travelers.
The Spectrum of Feedback

Alternatives Await Just Around the Corner
For those seeking more than just vending machine offerings, locals recommend stopping by "The Alchemist’s House," a few meters away. Here, the atmosphere is warmer and more inviting, providing a variety of snacks in a donation-based format.
The Connectivity of Pilgrim Life
Montán 24h Bar is situated on the Camino, making it a common stop for pilgrims. Its automated service may not provide the comfort of traditional hospitality, but it still serves a vital role for those on the journey, as stated by Eduardo López de Dicastillo Garnica.

Put my 2euro coin and wanted to get a drink, nothing came out , neither my drink nor my money.
Please do not buy snacks or drinks here, don’t waste your money
Nice place!cold drinks and good prices… recommended
This bar is just a machine. Look further!
There is only one vending machine with four benches at vending prices of any city, a few meters further on in “The Alchemist’s House” (I don’t know if they do it every day) they serve the pilgrim a variety of snacks at the price of the will of what each pilgrim considers contributing. The fact that it was called a bar is misleading since after the hard climb and descent you expect to find an establishment to have a drink but that is not the case.
When you are doing the Camino it is good to find a place to have a snack. Very well stocked and comfortable.
