  1. The monastery itself is not of great interest to look at. But the view from there is great. Definitely worth the journey. And there is a little cafe just before the monastery to stop off for coffee and drinks.

    But just to warn those attempting to get up here, you will need a 4 wheel drive. The road is steep and winding. You will struggle with a normal car.

  2. Takes about an hour and a half if you fancy the walk from Kalimaki. The ruins are impressive and on entering the monastery, we were welcomed by a custodian. Feel free to leave a tip, water bottles were offered but we took plenty for the 3 hour round trip.
