Discover the Allure of Epavlis Grace

Nestled in the breathtaking landscape of Santorini, Epavlis Grace is an enchanting destination that offers a unique blend of stunning views, charming accommodations, and adventure for travelers seeking an unforgettable getaway. With a chaotic blend of reviews, potential visitors need to navigate through the good, the bad, and the experiences to make informed choices for their journey.

An Unparalleled View

One consistent highlight of Epavlis Grace is its panoramic views. Visitors rave about the breathtaking sights of Kamari, particularly from the panoramic suite, which allows guests to experience the beauty of Santorini from the highest vantage point. A sight to behold, the vistas provided an unforgettable backdrop for both relaxation and romance, making it a perfect spot for honeymooners.

The Steep Climb: Prepare for a Workout

While the views are stellar, potential guests should be prepared for the hotel’s steep location. Many reviews note the exhausting ascent from the beach or shops, with numerous stairs and a steep incline leading to the hotel. For those who enjoy a good hike, this can be part of the charm, but it might not be suitable for guests with mobility issues.

Mixed Feelings About Service

Feedback about the hotel staff is notably mixed. While some guests appreciated the friendliness of the staff, particularly at the reception, others felt that the service fell short considering the hotel’s price range. It seems guests may need to actively seek out service rather than receive it naturally, which could detract from the overall experience.

Amenities: The Highs and Lows

The hotel boasts hot tubs on balconies and a main pool, elements that add to its allure. However, issues such as malfunctioning hot tubs were reported, leading some to express disappointment. Guests are encouraged to communicate with staff about issues to ensure clarity and satisfaction during their stay.

The Ambiance: Serenity Amongst Chaos

Reviewers often describe the ambiance of Epavlis Grace as quiet and peaceful. The hotel provides an adults-only environment, creating a serene atmosphere for relaxation. Yet, some visitors observed that sounds of guests using the stairs could disrupt moments of tranquility.

A Breakfast to Remember: or Not?

Guests’ reviews of the breakfast experience provide a spectrum of opinions. While many found the offerings to be satisfactory, others viewed the options as underwhelming, failing to meet 5-star standards. Travelers with high culinary expectations might want to consider external dining options nearby.

An Invitation to Explore

Location is everything, and Epavlis Grace certainly delivers with walkable access to shops and restaurants. The easy stroll to Kamari beach and ancient Thera offers opportunities for exploration and adventure, setting the stage for a well-rounded vacation experience.

A Bit of Luxury: Honeymoon Packages Disappointment

Many couples choose Epavlis Grace for honeymoon celebrations, but it’s wise to manage expectations regarding special packages. Reports of wilted flowers and subpar champagne in the honeymoon setup left some couples feeling less than impressed, urging new brides and grooms to consider DIY decorations for a personal touch.

Cleanliness: A Call for Improvement

Another recurrent theme among visitors is cleanliness concerns. Reviewers noted that there were issues, including lack of towel changes and cleanliness of the bathrooms. Future guests may want to express any immediate cleanliness issues to management for a more enjoyable stay.

Safety First: Security Concerns

Some guests expressed concerns about safety, particularly regarding unauthorized access to balconies. It’s important for visitors to double-check hotel policies regarding security and safety measures to ensure comfort during their stay.

Consider the Alternative: Sister Hotel Amenities

While Epavlis Grace lacks onsite dining options, some visitors appreciated the proximity to a sister hotel that offers a bar and food services. Travelers looking for convenience may want to consider this while planning their stay, even if it requires additional effort.

Finding the Right Fit

Ultimately, Epavlis Grace caters to a diverse range of travelers. Whether you’re seeking a romantic getaway, a peaceful retreat, or an adventure-laden trip, weighing the pros and cons is essential to finding the right fit for your stay in Santorini.

Final Thoughts: A Mixed Bag Awaiting Discovery

In conclusion, Epavlis Grace presents a mix of unforgettable views and fluctuating services. Continued visitor feedback will help refine the guest experience over time. If you’re ready for the stunning vistas and a hilltop adventure, your journey to this beautiful hotel may very well be worth it.

  1. During our 4 night stay there, someone violated our balcony twice and used the hot-tub and the hotel did not do anything for it. We did not feel safe knowing that someone is entering our balcony and there is no security. Also, the clean services can be improved as they were very poor. They did not change our shower towel ( there was a hole in the towel and it was easy to observe if it was changed or not), there was mold and rust in the shower and a really bad smell from the toilet. The breakfast does not meet the standards of a 5 star hotel and it is very basic. The parking area was not ideal and the way to the hotel was very steep. Wouldn’t stay at Epavlis Grace again.

  2. Location:
We booked the panoramic suite and must say the view is one of the best in the city. You can see all of Kamari from this particular suite and it offers optimal privacy as you are the highest suite at the hotel you can leave the front door open at night to enjoy the breeze free of prying eyes. The hotel itself is within walking distance of everything. I do mean everything. Shops, dozens of restaurants, the beach, ancient Thera and they offer a free parking lot just down the hill from the hotel. The hotel sits on a hill so you will have a hike cut out for you every morning making your way to the beach or shops. The stairs are exhausting as there are dozens, especially if you stay at the very top. There is an elevator located in the lobby but it is very slow and only takes you up 3/4 way to the very top. You can hear everyone pant up and down the stairs each day. Do not underestimate how often you will have to climb a hill from the dirt parking lot below to the hotel where you will then ascend dozens of steps.

Service: The overall service of the hotel is subpar for the price range. The staff is plenty friendly if you ask them a question but otherwise will not go out of their way to talk to you or check in on your accommodation.

Amenities: The hotel offers hotubs for majority of the rooms and a primary pool towards the bottom of the hotel. The hot tub for the panoramic suite was not working for our entire week long stay. The hot tub could be used but the hot water did not work making it essentially a cold jetted bath outdoors. This was extremely disappointing as it got chilly from the winds at night and we could not enjoy the tub along with the city views. The hotel staff informed us they shut off the hot water to all the tubs to prevent a power outage but did not inform us of this prior to our stay or during our stay. It was only after we inquired. The hot tub fiasco deducts an entire star from my review as it was one of the selling points. If you are staying here for the hot tub, I’d look elsewhere. The main pool was nice but would often get crowded. The room shower was nice and spacious and the toilets were also good. You are allowed to flush tissue at this particular hotel being that it’s newer fyi. Be aware you may receive used toiletries like we did which is disappointing for this price range.

Ambiance: The hotel is relatively quiet depending on the guest staying there at the time but we had no problem with outside noise. This may be because we booked the panoramic suite and have no one above us, but I enjoyed the quiet mature setting here.

Final Thoughts: The location of the hotel and the view offered with the panoramic suite are unforgettable. If you can overlook the stairmageddon each morning, mediocre service, lack of a useable hot tub, then I’d say the location and view would be more than sufficient for a stay here. There was an incident where the hotel staff unbeknownst to us scheduled an HVAC service tech to clean our wall mounted ac unit which kept us out of the room for at least an hour. We only found out as we were exiting our room we literally bumped into the tech who informed us he would need to clean our ac unit. This is something you think could wait to be done until the offseason but I guess not. This did not add to my favorable review as there is not much communication from the staff. Lastly, I booked this hotel for my honeymoon and called ahead to request to see if they do anything special. They told me they do a honeymoon package where they decorate the room with rose petals and provide a bottle of champagne all for 100 Euro. When I arrived part of the flowers were wilted and the bottle of champagne was a cheap bottle of brut that when I looked up cost less than 10 euro. You’re better off skipping this disappointing surprise and doing it yourself when your significant other is out of the room. All in all I personally would not visit again knowing what I know. I expected more from this price point and unfortunately did not enjoy my stay as much as I would have liked.

  3. Nice view, clean rooms, ok breakfast. I was missing water supply as a courtesy from the 4 star hotel. The way to the hotel is steep and from reception we needed another 82 steps … however, we liked it 🙂

  4. Fantastic hotel. Clean, modern rooms and a hot tub on every balcony. It is an adults only hotel so very quiet. Located up a slight hill but close to the main beach front where all of the restaurants are. Only reason for 4 stars is there is no food or bar. That said you can use the sister hotel’s bar but is a little inconvenient.

  5. Great place to stay! A 5 mins walk form the beach so very quiet. And the views are quite nice. Both front desk people were super helpful and helped us to anything we needed, from coffee to booking stuff for us. The breakfast could improve but we would definitely repeat.
