Minos Restaurant was a delightful find during our exploration of Heraklion. Nestled slightly outside the city center’s hustle and bustle, it offered the perfect balance of a relaxed atmosphere and prime people-watching opportunities from the second-floor balcony.
The star of the show was the food itself. We opted for a light lunch and were thoroughly impressed. The Greek salad and pomegranate salad showcased the incredible quality of local ingredients. The vegetables were bursting with freshness – a far cry from the greenhouse varieties.
But the true highlight was the shrimp dish. The prawns, grilled to perfection with a lemon-butter sauce, were exceptionally large and flavorful. The portion sizes were generous, making the price incredibly affordable, especially considering the quality and location.
Overall, Minos Restaurant offers a winning combination of fresh, local ingredients, delicious dishes (especially those giant prawns!), and a relaxed atmosphere perfect for people-watching. Highly recommended!
A UNIQUE LOCATION but you have to walk up approximately 15 steps to reach the seating area.
A really interesting place to have food & drink above a busy pedestrianised shopping path. Really good value, for good food and plenty on the menu for all tastes. the staff are friendly.

Nice restaurant, few stairs one between the street and very good food. We order four dishes And we were mor ethan satisfied, good price, a latge portions and great taste. Try it, the Lamb souvlaki, chicken souvlaki and gyros were awesome and pasta with prawns was with a lot od prawns.
