Just arrived back from Marathon Hotel for a weeks holiday. Very lovely hotel. The manager was very pleasant and helpfull, and always with a smile. The receptionists were very helpfull, from dining room staff kitchen staff, bar staff and house keeping all worked so hard and always smiling and pleasant. The food may have been repeated often but it was cooked very well and presented nicely so very appreciated.
Will definately go back. Well done. Marathon Hotel.
Have to say I don’t think this hotel deserves 4 stars, it’s a nice enough hotel but there are a couple of things which just aren’t up to scratch
Start with the good:
– staff are 5 star, all amazing, so friendly and always happy to help
– rooms are small but nice, bed is comfy and pillows are decent
– food, amazing quality and cooked stunningly
– the pizza available by the pool each day from like 11am – 5pm is out of this world
– the sun loungers, we went off peak so no issue getting loungers and my god they were the comfiest ever but not many so something to bear in mind if you are booking peak times
– our shower broke half way through the holiday and the reception staff arranged for it to be fixed very quickly
The bad:
– all inclusive my butt, only uzo, brandy, beer or wine available before 6.30pm, all other spirits, long drinks and cocktails available from 6.30-11 (which was not informed to us when we booked)
– although the food quality is good, there was such a small variety that it really brings it down
– evening food, on check in (Sunday) we were advised that there was food available until 11pm every night by the pool, however they didn’t actually open this til the Wednesday
– air con in the room, pretty much non existent turns on for like 5 minutes and then turns off again, tried all the different settings and stayed the same
– there was a horrible smell outside our room, fine inside the room and on the balcony but very off putting as you are coming to the room
Amazing Hotel! The staff are incredible, we were originally staying at a different hotel but wanted to change. We had a personal tour of the hotel from the manager and he was so polite and welcoming. We decided to book! Hands down the best part of the stay was the food! It was incredible so many choice amazing cooked and just perfect, there is no need to eat out when the food is that good! Thanks again to all the staff it has been a perfect stay!
First time visiting Rhodes, really glad we chose this hotel. Great location, not too busy around the area. Hotel receptionist was amazing, helpful every time we went to ask her questions on places to visit, boat trips. Beach about 20 minutes walk. Or bus journey to bigger beach. Local people were lovely, local restaurant really great when you want a change from hotel food. Will definitely be going back again.
