  1. This campsite was a brilliant find. Perfectly located right on the idyllic Plaka beach with really excellent facilities. I stayed in a “bed tent” for 8 days”. Simple but comfortable and clean with bedding included and electrical power. The facilities here are excellent – bathrooms are absolutely spotless, plenty of fridges available to use, chairs and tables, a paid laundry as well as hand washing stations and a good cafe/bar. The staff are exceptional. Communication from Petra before I arrived was superb. All in all, the perfect place to stay.

  2. This is a holiday resort where you can rent rooms, bungalows, or set up a tent. There are 2 public kitchens, a small common area where you can charge your devices, a cafe-restaurant and a childrens’ playground. The toilets and showers are very clean and the whole place looks well organized. You should know that this is a business that caters mostly to families with young children, teenagers and young adults who like family oriented vacations. A lot of people who enter the common areas stare at walls to avoid eye contact. I felt like I was on vacation with all the grumpy people I see every Monday morning in the streets of Athens.

I had the unlucky experience of having next to me a group of people who chattered loudly all night, but for the most part, this is a quiet camp with good shading over the tents, where normally you can have a restful sleep.

The campsite itself is quite big and charmless and so is the long beach that stretches in front of it and is covered with row upon row of sunbeds. Naxos is a very commercialized island.

I did not find the people at the help desk very helpful.

On a second visit in 2024 I found my stay more pleasant because of better neighbors and a helpful night guard.

This campsite can be a convenient solution for a short stay, or even a long one for people who are looking for big, clean and standardized, but will disappoint if you’re looking for island character or convivial atmosphere.

  3. Amazing location on the beach and everything you need is close by. Grocery store next door, great taverna, bar on site and regular bus service. We visited in low season and camped in our tent. The campsite was great: spacious, clean facilities, cool people and for a good price. Definitely recommend!

  4. When we arrived in Naxos, we weren’t quite sure how long we wanted to stay at the biggest of the cycladic islands. At the end we stayed at Maragas camping for 5 nights.

Tiny little camping equipped with a supermarket, bar/restaurant and laundry is also possible (6 EUR). Located directly at the beach, a bicycle drive to the main town of Naxos takes about 25min. Great sanitary facilities – always clean. I just love those outdoor showers!
