Found this place on an Internet recommendation, and it was just behind our hotel, off the beaten track, not a beach side eatery. But we gave it a go and weren’t disappointed. Don’t expect a lavish all bells and whistles restaurant with fancy frills, just simple, great service with simple home cooked food. The proportions were good, the food was tasty (best tomato balls/fritters we’d tasted – and we’d tried a few!) and the price was reasonable – and we got a free ice cream!
We were in Santorini for ten days, and it’s the only restaurant we visited twice.
Give it a go, you won’t be disappointed!
Good restaurant in Perissa. Here you can literally stuff yourself with delicious Greek dishes without a spending a lot of money. I would recommend in particular the Moussaka. The place is not very big but it is quite cozy and the staff is very very kind and available.
We had a criminally thawed codfish that smelled like egg and the tiniest , saltiest portion of soutzoukakia I have seen and tasted in my life. I have eaten here before the food is usually pretty basic but ok. Today it was uneatable. The waiter was completely uninterested as well.
Dined here with family last Thursday whilst on holiday. The service is excellent, warm and welcoming. The prices are very reasonable, especially in comparison to those restaurants on the beach.
The food served is traditional greek food, made by Grandma, in a family run restaurant.
We had the sausage starter and saginaki to start. Both absolutely delicious. We were lucky to try a relatives tomato ball too which was incredible.
For main I had the stifado, the beef was very tender and flavourful.
We were drinking the house wine which is very cheap and nice.
Excellent value, would recommend to anyone visiting perissa.
Really nice servers and the food was amazing and authentic.
