Isolation is poor and you can hear night clubbers coming back from parties as if there are in the house…
More over, there is a church 30m from the house so on Sunday morning,
After the défilé of clubbers all night long, be ready to be awake by bells at 8am then to have a preach with monk’s singing until 10am !!!
Positive points : located in the downtown of Chora. Everything is at walking distance (restaurants, clubs, bus stations, shopping, Old port)
Even if house is small, it is well organized with modern and clean WC / shower (high pressure appreciated by girls with long hairs).
So as a conclusion, Madres house is ok for short stay (1 or 2 nights waiting for plane or ferry) and for young adults or couple to enjoy nightlife. But not adapted for family if you want to stay longer and discover Mykonos Island (few equipments for cooking, nothing to dry your towel or bikinis after the beach, too noisy…).
We did not meet « physically » the owner but she was always available by WhatsApp.
Final feeling is mitigated, looks like more than « cash machine » than authentic accommodation…
Greeted by the sweetest owner- she came quickly as we arrived. Attended to anything I asked her for assistance with. The day we checked out – our ferry was cancelled and she was able to make room for us in another unit as soon as we reached out & returned. Very clean rooms. Location is great literally a few steps away from the city center. These steps are the best spot for pictures!
The lady who maintenances /cleans the rooms was so sweet! Very thankful we stayed here.
We enjoyed our stay at Madres houses. Clean room. Nice hot water. Airconditioner worked well, and it was the first hotel room who welcomed us with ice cold drinking water in the fridge, and a kettle for my beloved coffee. I see many people complain about the small bathroom, but it is a holiday accomodation. I am a very big guy, and the space is ok. The hotel’s location is excellent and near all the nice places to visit. The steps made me and my wife fit. Beautifull surroundings. The Manager assisted us to get a taxi to the ferry without extra costs. Thank you Madres Houses. You certainly contributed to make our holiday perfect.
the old town centre is just down the steps, but just far enough to not be bothered by the sounds. Apartment itself is OK to sleep in, but don’t expect to be cooking or spending much time in it. Beautiful view from the windmill that’s about 50 meters up the street.
We had a great stay at Madres house! We particularly loved the morning patio, great for a morning coffee and gossip with friends. Loved the spacious atmosphere and the great location. However, the shower head was a bit funky (you had to hold it when showering). Could have used more coffee in the provided care package as we ran out on the first day. The air conditioners were great! Thanks madre!
