My experience at Loucas on the Cliff was DISAPPOINTING. Let me start by saying the reception staff were SO RUDE. There was one older woman working at the hotel. My family was standing to the side when she walked out and asked them “What are you doing here?”. Again at night when my mom and I were taking photos in public access areas of the hotel, she was glaring at us and following us around. She gave the most NASTIEST and DISGUSTING look at us as we were just trying to take photos of the view and even when we were walking up the stairs to exit the hotel. When we returned we asked her for an extra roll of toilet paper and a water bottle to which she responded that room service would give it to us the next day. We told her we were leaving for Oia early in the morning and she still refused. I travel frequently and this is the worst customer service I have ever had; she was so rude and insulting. She was working at the front desk at night around 9pm on Thursday, July 11th in case the owner/manager is reading this and wants to educate her on how to treat paying customers. When I walked into my room I saw that the picture was different than the room I booked so I went to the front desk lady and she told me that “I never booked a specific room”. When I showed her the pictures of the room I booked with the name of the specific room I booked using the Loucas website she said, “That’s on our website?”. The view from our balcony was nice, but the condition of the room was HORRIBLE (as seen in the pictures I added). The sides of the shower had mold, the bathroom smelled so disgusting and felt humid, and there was a large cockroach that climbed out of the drain under the closet. The power went out several times during our stay along with the wifi and these outages would last for at least 30 minutes at a time. The breakfast was average, they didn’t serve enough coffee for 3 people, the juice was room temp and tasted spoiled, and there weren’t enough bowls to eat milk and cereal. Only one waiter was there to serve so many guests. There is no phone in the room to call room service. The shower/sink water is boiling hot so be careful. Last thing to note is that there are SO MANY STAIRS to climb so make sure that everyone in your party is comfortable in climbing SEVERAL STAIRS up and down. The pictures I added show the drain that the cockroach came out of, the mold around the sink and shower, and the poorly maintained condition of the closets in the bathroom.
Booked an Executive Triple Room with Caldera View, but was disappointed, because the pictures of the room at the time of booking didn’t represent the room I was given. I was expecting a private view with balcony and lounge chairs. When asked the lady at the reception about this discrepancy, she basically laughed in my face, saying that this hotel offers no such a thing. She brought me to the owner. The owner told me to contact booking.com. When I probed further about this issue, she finally admitted that the room I booked “was already taken”. No apology, nothing! There were other people’s hair and make-up stains on the bedding. Plus, the room was next to the open door filled with stinky sacks of rubbish and other rubbish.
The breakfast was also bad. Very stingy with the food. Even had to ask for salt and pepper. Cold, watery coffee, I found a long, dark hair in the mushrooms. The servant spilled the orange juice on our table, pretended not to notice. No attention to detail. Messy, dirty, and the employees are loud.
However, the views were amazing from the common areas. And please bring conditioner and slippers, as those are not provided.
recently stayed at Loucas on the cliff and was thoroughly impressed with every aspect of my experience. From the moment I arrived, the staff went above and beyond to ensure my comfort and satisfaction. The check-in process was smooth and efficient, with the receptionist Hellen providing a warm welcome and helpful information about the hotel amenities and local attractions.
Throughout my stay, alexopoulou eirene the manger was friendly, attentive, and professional. Whether it was the housekeeping staff keeping my room immaculate, the concierge assisting with dinner reservations, or the waitstaff at the hotel restaurant providing exceptional service, everyone including Hassan and Islam seemed genuinely dedicated to making my stay enjoyable.
The hotel itself was beautifully maintained, with luxurious accommodations and stunning views. The facilities providing everything I needed for relaxation and rejuvenation.
Overall, I can’t recommend Loucas highly enough. The outstanding service provided by the staff truly made my stay memorable, and I look forward to returning in the future.”
I was given a basement room instead of a room with Caldera View. The room smelled moldy, and there was an excrement stain in the toilet from the previous guests. Very rude and ignorant staff, the breakfast and service was horrible. Avoid at all costs!
We had a lovely stay here. Staff were great & accommodating. Views are incredible & our room was very spacious and clean/tidy (deluxe suite). If you are unfit or have bad knees be mindful there are many stairs which wasn’t an issue for us as we are active people. There is a bar above the rooms so I’d recommend bringing a pair of ear plugs if you are a light sleeper. Breakfast was very filling every morning with a variety of food offered from the hotel. We are on our honeymoon, our room was set up with beautiful fresh rose petals which made us feel very special. Thank you Loucas on the cliff for the warm welcoming & stay 🙂
