What a superb experience we had here.
Obviously some of the reviews were scary in terms of the gulf between amazing and a disaster but my own personal experience was the hotel is superb but it needs a bit of work in the rooms.
The room itself had an incredible balcony view of the sea, a super comfy bed, a dodgy wardrobe and someone had clearly tried to kick the door in. Admittedly I’m not painting a good picture but the view of the sea/beach beats everything.
The hotel itself is in a great location with clean and tidy eating areas, spotless reception and a lot of space.
The food was also incredible, I know it’s an all inclusive and some people may have had better experiences but we found it great. My Mrs is a vegetarian and there were plenty of options for her. Breakfasts were amazing.
Lastly and more importantly the staff… they work so hard, they’d do anything for you, and even though many of them are working long shifts they are still happy and smiley. All of them greet you, they’re efficient and you can have a laugh with the bar staff. I do think it depends on your stay and luck of the draw with the rooms but personally I believe this is a very special place.
Ironically for roughly the same price of a room here for a day you could spend the same on staying in a premier inn in Somerset…
My experience at Lindos Royal was absolutely delightful, with the spa being the standout feature of my stay. The moment I entered, I was greeted by a calming atmosphere that immediately put me at ease. The variety of treatments offered is impressive, catering to all needs, whether you’re looking for deep relaxation or therapeutic care. The therapists were highly skilled, ensuring that every session was both soothing and invigorating.
Aside from the spa, the resort itself is stunning, with elegant architecture and beautifully landscaped grounds. It’s the perfect place to unwind, with luxurious amenities that make for a truly rejuvenating vacation. If you’re looking for a retreat that combines relaxation with a touch of luxury, Lindos Royal is the place to be.
Currently here and waiting for my transfer to the import after a 6 day stay with my 14yo granddaughter. The hotel itself is very basic, certainly not 5*
Nothing in the mini fridge after Day 1, when it was stocked with 1 small bottle of water per guest. Nothing after that.
Rooms are tiny – just enough space to put a bed – really basic. Separate loo & shower cubicles (which to me is a plus) but the shampoo /shower gel dispensers were broken. No hand soap at the sink.
All inclusive was restricted hours, and again very basic. You’re limited to ordering two drinks per bar visit, too, so in a large group that would be ridiculous.
10€ deposit for a pool towel is pretty standard nowadays, but you’re restricted to changing it only 3 times. Nobody tells you this, you have to ask at Reception
The corridors are grubby and plates of food and other rubbish are left (guests are doing this but it’s not being cleared)
Sun loungers are basic, but if you’re lucky you’ll be able to get a thicker mattress to put on one. You’ll have to find that yourself though. There doesn’t seem to be anybody responsible for ensuring gusts have access to mattresses to put on the loungers, & there are very few! There’s barely space to walk between or around the loungers, too.
Entertainment is shockingly bad, but as it’s the end of the season I expected a lack of entertainment anyway.
The bar by reception charges extortionate prices. The downstairs bar stinks of damp – in fact the entire place smells iffy, like stagnant water. The pool bar is possibly the best, but the coffee machine is a bit hit n miss, and the food consists of chips, pizza, cake, biscuits, and a small range of mini wraps (cream cheese for example)
Rooms are ‘cleaned’ daily, but you could come back to find they’ve forgotten to provide towels, or they’ve created bed art – very inconsistent- pot luck how well the room is cleaned
Basically I’d say they treat as if they’ve got your money so you’ll have to put up with the shoddiness.
Oh and the pools close at 6 – strict on this! The sun disappears behind the hills at around 5, but it remains light til around 7 (October)
The beach is shingle (which I was prepared for) but the sun loungers on the beach are not for hotel guests so you’ll need to bring something to sit on if you’re going to stay for the day
I’ve been lucky as I hired a car and travelled around the island to different places every day, which was the plan anyway, but I chose this hotel for its location (near Lindos Village) and its 5 star rating! I wouldn’t come again and I cannot recommend it as I know there are much better hotels on this beautiful island.
I just can’t justify giving this a higher star rating than a three. The hotel states it’s a 5 star hotel but the rooms and service are subpar to some four star hotels I’ve stayed on the same island and paid a thousand pounds less for the week stay. The hotel seems run down in places, food is like warm at best and staff don’t really seem to know what to do when told about and issues. Today we asked if there was an iron available and we were told the hotel did not have any ironing facilities due to health and safety. Our only option was to pay for the dry cleaning service. For 5 stars I’d expect an iron in my room.
Where do I even begin.
Firstly the photos for this hotel are very misleading.
Stating it’s a 5* hotel when it’s more of a 2* in my opinion.
We had a family room booked for 3 adults and 1 small child to begin with. However the room wasn’t big enough to swing a cat in it.
After speaking with the manager they moved us to a family suite which was a lot better, however still a few issues.
– 5 coat hangers on the wardrobes to use between 3 adults and 1 child.
– Mouse droppings on the balcony that hadn’t been moved the whole duration of our stay, which clearly shows that the cleaners don’t clean up properly.
– Piles of sand in the room (we hadn’t been to the beach) so again, the rooms are not cleaned properly.
– €25 for a safety deposit box which is in the wardrobe and it’s smaller than a shoe box so there isn’t a great deal you can fit in it, especially for 3 adults.
All food in the restaurants is lukewarm, nothing is hot.
All inclusive drinks stop at 11pm meaning you have to pay for the remainder (never had I EVER been to an all inclusive and drinks stop at a specific time).
FYI – It’s easier to take your own pool towels as you have to pay a €10 fee for a paper thin towel and they can only be changed every 2/3 days.
In the 7 days of my stay I hadn’t seen the pools being cleaned apart from “swim up rooms”.
Kids pool was filthy the whole duration, had to ask staff members to come and clean it.
Yet still was dirty.
No irons for “healthy and safety” reasons, but of course you can “PAY” a fee to have your items to be ironed.
Kids entertainment on a night lasted a whole duration of 15 minutes!
Italian kids are only allowed in the kids club which is appalling and when asking staff members they cannot give an explanation why.
