I visited this small authentic Greek restaurant on an early Friday evening. I could see that 3-4 tables were alreadu reserved, however there were still plenty of available ‘drop-in’ tables both inside & outside.
The menu is quite extensive with a good selection of Starters & Mains. I opted for the Mixed Grill for 2 (although I was eating alone), together with a side of Fries & a 0.5l bottle Eza Lager.
A complimentary side of bread slices was placed on the table (however no oil / dip / butter provided), before my meal arrived.
The main plate consisted of a grilled chicken breast, a pork steak, a lamb chop, a beefburger pattie & a large seasoned sausage (in other words, it was actually a mixed grill for 1 person)…together with a generous side plate of fries.
All meat was cooked to perfection & the fries were tasty, crispy.
Greek music was playing constantly in the background, which added to the authenticity & the 2x waiter staff were friendly. If being picky, the only slight disappointment was that it took a considerable time for my dirty dishes to be collected & there was no complimentary fruit / raki (which previously has appeared to be the normal practice in Crete).
The total bill was 20€, which is good value.
I liked Lazaros a lot, it is understated from, the outside but the atmosphere inside is electric. It probably was like this as I went on a Friday night, but it was really loud and full of life.
The food is great from starters to the meat and the service was good, apart from being small and very tight to sit for some people it was a great experience!
Small restaurant where you can eat simple but tasty traditional food at good price.
If you look for a local place which offers authentic food with real Greece cuisine – you are in the perfect spot. Delicious food, great portions and prices. What’s also worth mentioning is the service that can make you feel like you are at your own home (shout out to you guys!). Highly recommend!
Quite expensive and the dish lacked some sides for the price (vegetables or something), you just get fries next to your steak. The staff are super friendly though and the atmosphere is really nice – many locals eat there
