  1. The cafe is nice, with good food and drinks, and friendly staff. However, I have to leave a negative review due to the bus system. As others have mentioned, the drivers are extremely rude. The buses lack destination signs, so you have to ask the drivers, who respond with minimal effort and poor attitudes, making you feel like a burden. A simple solution would be to place signs on the bus windows.

    Additionally, there’s a door next to the cafe with an intercom for information. Unfortunately, the person on the other end is also rude and seems to dislike their job, or perhaps just tourists, judging by the way he answers questions.

    Overall, the bus system is poorly designed and staffed with unhelpful and unfriendly personnel.

  2. I have lived in 10 countries and traveled in almost 60 and this is the worst managed bus system I have ever encountered. The locals complain about it as well and feel powerless to change the situation.

    I do not.

    First and foremost, the all male bus driving crew is incredibly rude. They act dictatorial with a highly authoritarian attitude. How dare you speak to your customers in such a disrespectful manner!

    Secondly, the drivers are expressively angry at so many different people, for no legitimate reasons. I have watched them yelling at people in the villages multiple times in each of the trips I’ve taken on the buses. Do you really think that you own the roads?

    Why do you think that being a bus driver entitles you to speak to your fellow Greek citizens in such a way? Why do you think it excuses you from treating other people with the kindness and dignity that they deserve?

    Instead of being continuously angry, why don’t you initiate a public education campaign in which you beseech people to clear the roadways so that the buses can easily pass. If you continue to do things as you are, you will perpetuate an emotional climate of anger and contempt throughout the beautiful Samos Island and that’s not good for anyone.

    Thirdly, the system you’ve built is ridiculously dysfunctional. For example, you have printed schedules that are scattered throughout the island, many of them outdated, with very little correspondence between them. This is 2024 and the rest of the world is digitized!

    Another example is your failure to place destination signs in the windshields of the buses, especially while waiting in the capital city station. I watched many times as customers wandered around from bus to bus, asking if it was the bus that would take them to their destination. More often than not, the driver, who was frequently sitting, talking with other people inside the bus, would rudely tell them to leave and wait outside.

    I could include other examples, but the bottom line is this: Why don’t you design your system to consistently provide people with the information they need to make the whole process as smooth and efficient as possible?

    Does it make you feel important and powerful to keep everyone confused? Do you structure the situation so that it provides you with ongoing opportunities to patronize everyone and impose your authoritarian attitude?

    Your failure to design a functional system is an indication of your lack of empathy, your carelessness, your desire to make money above all else, your apparent lack of education, and the monopoly power you hold over anyone who needs to take the bus.

    If you had competition, you would either have to adapt….or go out of business.

    As it is, you run this bus company as though it were mafia.

    Shame on you.

  3. There is no attendant or anyone to contact at the bus stop. The buses are waiting, and as the time approaches, the driver comes. I’ve added the bus times and route below.
    There is a taxi stand nearby. It’s nice to have a price list according to distance. I’ve added the fee list below.
    You should make a reservation for a rental car in advance because it is very crowded and therefore car availability is difficult.
