Beautiful place, large beach with a bar and snacks available. Excellent fun, teachers were always in the water looking over every single child. Fantastic!
Was supposed to take lessons for a few days. I came back all summer long, for as many lessons as I could. Owners are mature, seasoned pros. They teach surfers of all ability and *all ages*: kids to people in their sixties. They not only teach *how* to surf; they teach also *why* to surf a certain way based on the geo area, currents, the wave size, etc. I learned SO MUCH about aaaaall those things that go into “just catching a wave”.
In surf spots there should, I believe, exist a *separate* rating for “vibe”. Because it matters. The vibe at Ikaria Surf School and Messakti Beach, is that of a dreamy surf postcard, except in real life. People from all over the world, all ages. Boys. Girls. Men. Women. Novices and *amazing* surfers. Surfing side by side. Watching the sun set. Listening to music at night.
Overall 5 STARS for both school and vibe because Google doesn’t permit 55.
