Proper home-made local food. Felt like eating my grandmother’s food (if they were Greek 😊) such a great Sunday lunch.
I only write this review to warn other black and brown individuals like myself to not support this business.
My mother and sister politely walked into this place to ask if they could use the restroom. The restaurant was open and there were no customers eating at the time so they weren’t busy at all.
The woman told them that she didn’t have a restroom and told them to go down the street. They politely left and continued down the street to search for a restroom.
After hearing about this, my girlfriend (who is Greek) thought it was strange, so she walked into the same restaurant and asked if she could use the restroom.
The woman told her of course she could use the restroom and pointed to the door. My girlfriend then mentioned the two women who asked about the restroom 5 minutes before to which she replied “yes, but you were polite” — complete lie.
The only difference between my mom & sister and my girlfriend, is that they are African American and my girlfriend is Greek.
Please understand that by supporting this restaurant, you’re supporting a racist establishment that in my opinion stains the reputation of the loving Greek culture and people I’ve grown to know over my 2 years of living in Greece.
Please do not eat here.
Lovely little authentic Greek place. Atmosphere is adorable- grape vines, views, greek music. The owner is so pleasant and friendly. Food was good – moussaka, stuffed tomato and pepper were our entrees. We had the saganaki, the tzatziki and eggplant salad. The only negative about the food was the eggplant salad was a little on the bland side even though you could totally taste the garlic. Note that due to the vines, mosquitoes abound but the owner gives every table anti-mosquito spray. And then we got an ice cream in the house. Overall a lovely experience.
Yo, so we went to this Greek restaurant, right? And let me tell you, it was a total disaster. The tzatziki was the worst I’ve ever had, like, ever. The French fries were supposed to be homemade with cheese, but they were raw, man. And the imam eggplant was swimming in oil, it was so greasy. We ordered three pieces of moussaka, but we could barely finish half of one. And the spicy cheese tasted like it came straight from a supermarket. Overall, the food was just plain terrible.
Wholesome family-run gem of a restaurant in the main town square. This is next to the pharmacy and the taxi rink. The views of the hills are amazing, and the food is delicious. Come here in the daytime for a nice sunny view, or in the early evening to catch the sunset. Do try the chickpea stew on Sundays, or the Sifnian pizza. The caper salad was delicious as well. The desserts are made by the owner’s daughter and are different each day. Thank you for the wonderful food and experience!
