Our stay in the zorba rooms was anything but good. We had booked two rooms, one double and one triple. we would stay in them up to 5 people but we would take turns because friends would come and go so it would serve us all. Elona, the hostess, led us to the rooms and had a surprise for us! The triple room we booked had a broken lock and the door wouldn’t shut, and she was willing to give it to us with a €5 discount. How generous! Since there was no availability in the area, we accepted it, with a little laugh and a good mood! besides, we went for 3 days to have a good time.. Initially, the prices are much higher than what these rooms are worth. it is very small and empty, there is neither a hanger in the bathroom nor in the room to hang towels or clothes .. a garbage bin in the room? not at all! why would you need it anyway! Elona is indiscreet and annoying.. Although the hotel claims to be pet friendly, we left the dog in the room so we wouldn’t have it in the heat and 5 minutes after we left to go eat, she called us and spoke to us very badly, saying that the dog is crying and barking.. it was stressing us so much that we would turn around and pick it up and realize that nothing was being heard.. The climax?? Get ready! the day has come to leave, she told us that the check out is at 12.. the first friend comes down to pay the amount for both rooms at 10.30 in the morning and goes to the beach. she informs her that there are two people in the triple and one person in the double room who are still sleeping and will come down later. At 11 they started banging on the doors so hard and we opened the door and saw Elona, her husband and a child looking at each other inside the rooms and yelling for us to leave because they want to clean and they won’t be able to make it! We politely replied to them that you have been paid and that it is not right to take people out of the rooms like that and they started saying that we put a boy in the rooms and this is dangerous and that if there is a murder what will he do! Then her husband also jumped and said if the boy we took in the room had a good time everything is fine! we told her that we give her face to face feedback to improve her services and that if she doesn’t accept it, there is also google and that’s when she went crazy and started throwing us out of the place and threatened to call the police! Tragic behavior , rude and gossipy. If you don’t find a better option, and you are forced to book there, set your limits and get ready to feel that you are walking into a conservative village, to be checked when you enter, when you leave and who you hang out with!

A warm welcome from Elona, the delightful owner, who bestows upon us the delightful news that our meticulously booked room is mysteriously nonexistent. Oh, how gracious! To compensate, she offers us an alternative chamber of wonders, complete with a “discount” label. How utterly thoughtful!

Now, let’s delve into the realm of luxury, shall we? Imagine a room stripped of all unnecessary items. Trash bins? Who needs ’em! Chairs? Who needs a place to sit when you can admire the emptiness? Cups? Well, they’re overrated anyway! It’s like entering an avant-garde gallery, where minimalism meets inconvenience. Simply breathtaking!

And let’s not forget the bathroom, where the shower’s feeble attempt at water pressure is accompanied by a symphony of bizarre and unsettling noises. It’s like being serenaded by a tone-deaf opera singer with plumbing as their instrument. Oh, the auditory bliss! A shower experience that challenges your eardrums like never before. Bravo, hotel designers, bravo!

Now, brace yourself for the grandeur of the balcony. Behold, the captivating view of… the hotel’s trash-ridden backyard! Get ready to feast your eyes on a collection of discarded treasures, including jackets, mattresses, and broken beds. It’s like being transported to a landfill-themed wonderland, just a stone’s throw away from your abode. The fragrant aroma of decay truly adds that touch of sophistication. How delightfully enchanting!

But hold your breath, my fellow adventurers, because there’s more! This establishment isn’t content with offering subpar accommodations alone. No, no, they’ve mastered the art of deception. With their cunning scheme of coaxing guests into canceling their bookings and paying in cash, all while pretending your reserved room never existed, they truly deserve a standing ovation. It’s like a twisted game of chance, where the odds are forever stacked against you. What a stroke of brilliance!

So, my intrepid explorers, if you’re seeking an experience that tests your resilience and challenges your ability to find humor in the bleakest of situations, this is the place for you. But if comfort, convenience, and transparency rank high on your vacation checklist, I implore you to look elsewhere. Life’s too short to be surrounded by vacant rooms, cacophonous showers, rubbish-filled vistas, and the looming suspicion of being taken for a ride. This hotel is set away from it all. Over 1.5 hrs from Chania it’s worth the seclusion. 50 mtrs to the beach and local tavernas.
