A Taste of Tradition: Savory Pastries

Upon visiting Hibiscus, don’t miss out on the savory pastries that are a staple of the local menu. As noted by traveler Nicole Chu, the spinach and cheese, ham and cheese, and chicken pastries provide a satisfying start to your day. Although she mentioned they arrived lukewarm, they still delivered on flavor. These pastries offer a glimpse into the culinary traditions that shape the area and are perfect for a light breakfast.

Sweet Indulgences: Baklava Bliss

Baklava at Hibiscus has become a standout favorite for many, as evidenced by Octavio Dusandare’s glowing review. He believes it to be the best he has ever tasted, declaring it a true must-try for visitors. This sweet, flaky treat is infused with honey, nuts, and spices, providing an exquisite combination of textures and flavors that will awaken your senses.

Varied Flavors: A Baklava Journey

Anzett Viljoen’s experience highlights the variety of baklava available. While she faced a minor hiccup with her order, she was delighted by the quality of the two types she received. Such experiences reflect Hibiscus’s commitment to showcasing diverse flavors within traditional recipes, ensuring there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Sweet Overload: A Balancing Act

While many rave about the delicious baklava, not all experiences have been perfect. Valentina Pietta found the dessert to be overwhelmingly sweet. This feedback emphasizes the importance of palates, and the diverse tastes that can influence your experience. If you have a sweet tooth, be prepared for a tantalizing treat, but if you prefer a milder sweetness, perhaps ask for a recommendation when ordering.

Dining Experience: The Atmosphere Matters

A vital part of any dining experience is the atmosphere, and this is where some guests have encountered challenges. As pointed out by Sara Zamora, customer service is an aspect that may leave something to be desired, particularly regarding outdoor seating. This highlights the importance of finding a welcoming environment, so be ready to navigate the seating dynamics at Hibiscus.

Delicious Crepes: Another Highlight

For those looking to diversify their culinary adventure, the crepes at Hibiscus have also received positive feedback. Visitors will find these thin, delicate treats expertly cooked, offering versatility ranging from sweet to savory options. Paired with a cup of local coffee, they make for a delightful mid-morning snack or dessert.

  1. We bought some savoury pastries for breakfast: spinach and cheese, ham and cheese, and chicken. They were okay. The pastries were lukewarm at most, although not stale. Edible and good enough. Perhaps you’ll have better luck with the desserts.

  2. The staff is rude and does not like customers to sit at their tables outside the restaurant. They will push you off after you’ve sat to eat for only 10 minutes and place “reserved” signs on your table. There are no reservations either, and the owner will pick and choose which people to kick out of the seating area.
