Welcome to the Golden Coast Hotel & Bungalows
Nestled along the stunning coastline, the Golden Coast Hotel & Bungalows offers visitors a unique blend of relaxation and adventure. While the attractions and nearby sites promise excitement, different guests have varied opinions on their stay at this destination close to Athens.
Location, Location, Location!
The Golden Coast is conveniently located for easy access to Athens, making it an attractive choice for travelers looking to explore both beach lounging and city adventures. However, some guests have expressed that the distance and accessibility might not align with their expectations.
A Warm Welcome Awaits
One standout feature of the Golden Coast Hotel is its friendly staff. Many reviews highlight the helpfulness and attentiveness of the personnel, making guests feel welcomed and cared for throughout their stay. It’s the personal touch that brightens the experience for many visitors.
Poolside Paradise
For families looking for fun in the sun, the hotel’s multiple pools provide the perfect setting for relaxation and recreation. Guests seem to enjoy the convenience of having three pools to choose from, which cater to guests of all ages, creating a vibrant atmosphere.
Culinary Delights or Disappointments?
When it comes to dining, feedback varies. Some guests rave about the range and quality of food available, while others found it lacking in variety and clarity, especially regarding allergens. The snacks and meals found within the hotel may leave some diners wanting more.
Experience Diverse Entertainment
The Golden Coast offers a range of entertainment options, though many reviewers note that activities are primarily catered to French-speaking guests. While some enjoyed the variety available, others felt there should be broader inclusivity for non-French-speaking visitors.
Beach Bliss or Disappointment?
While the hotel boasts its proximity to the beach, guests have voiced concerns regarding cleanliness and service. It’s advisable to manage expectations about beach experiences and be aware of the nuances that may affect your beachside adventures.
Bungalows vs. Hotel Rooms: The Great Debate
Many guests recommend the hotel rooms over the bungalows, citing a need for updated facilities. The choice between these two types of accommodations can impact your overall experience at the Golden Coast; careful consideration is encouraged.
Value for Money: A Contested Point
The price point for stays at the Golden Coast Hotel & Bungalows may raise eyebrows. Several reviewers feel the costs do not match the quality of amenities and service provided, suggesting visitors look elsewhere for better value all-inclusive options.
The Thrill of Water Sports
One huge plus is the access to water sports and activities. Visitors highlight engaging opportunities, including snorkeling, though it is essential to inquire about rental details to avoid hidden charges during water activities.
An All-Inclusive with Conditions
The all-inclusive offerings at the hotel are generally appreciated, with guests enjoying the variety of food and drink available. However, some reviews suggest that the execution may not always meet expectations, especially in terms of quality and service timing.
Getting Around: From Athens to the Resort
Travel to and from Athens can be a breeze with taxi services readily available. However, be prepared for fares that can add up, affecting your overall travel budget if you’re planning excursions into the city frequently.
For the Retirees or Adventurers?
The hotel seems to attract a diverse demographic, with some guests feeling it caters more to retirees. This ambiance may not align with younger travelers seeking nightlife or dynamic activities, leading to mixed feelings about the overall atmosphere.
Read the Room: Be Aware of Cultural Differences
Experiences shared in the reviews suggest that cultural differences among guests could affect interactions on the property. Visitors are encouraged to approach potential discomfort with an open mind while focusing on their own enjoyable experience.
A Bittersweet Conclusion
With a blend of delightful staff, beautiful pools, and exciting water sports, the Golden Coast Hotel & Bungalows has the potential to be an idyllic getaway spot. However, keen awareness of its mixed reviews is essential for crafting a fulfilling vacation experience. Educated decisions regarding accommodations and activities will help ensure you make the most of your stay at this unique destination.

Whilst staff at the resort is great and friendly, the hotel itself seems to be rundown and this is definitely not a 4star resort. We normally always book 5 star and make sure it’s not some basic 5star. It’s the first time we had booked this, as it’s near Athens, however it’s nowhere near Athens. There is nothing around the hotel outside, there is no entertainment and all afternoon snacks are only 3 items. No midnight food and everything gets quiet after 4PM. It’s a very out dated and more for people on retirement, although prices are way too high and you can book a much better all inclusive somewhere else in Greece! Also, their visitors seem to be racist, (Eastern European farmers and labourers and cannot speak English). It’s not very nice. I personally would say this hotel is worth 2 stars and needs a review. A lot of French people here and few German. They’re not racist and not so bad. The staff the hotel is very friendly and kind but we feel our holiday has just been ruined by coming here they don’t even have board games or any activities and the beach is not very clean and has cat poop and too many cats. Taxi fare from Athens airport was around 100 euros. We could have stayed 4 nights in Athens and would still spend less and have a better stay.
Superb location for a family holiday in the sunshine.
Great rooms, nice layout of hotel with 3 pools, a number of bars and restaurant all within a few minutes walk of each other.
Food was of a good standard and snacks available consistently between restaurant opening times.
Restaurants are large and we had no trouble getting a table for our family of 7.
The staff mostly very helpful and paid attention to keeping the facilities running well.
Hotel staff helped us arrange for trips into Athens and closer to home, all reasonable value and the arrangements went smoothly.
Brilliant stay. Staff were incredible, available 24/7 and catered to all our needs. Things went a bit south for our holiday but the staff arranged transported when we needed it even around the resort in their carts. Entertainment was primarily in French but most staff spoke fairly good English as well as other languages. All inclusive had good variety, multiple pools, bars and activities available (included or at extra cost depending).
A very honest review. Food was hit and miss as a lot of it wasn’t identified properly which is no good when you have a child with allergen. But was ok in tasting. Entertainment was very much aimed towards French. Pools was great open from 10am til 8pm, they have towels available for a refundable deposit of 10 euros. You are situated right on the beach with lots of water sports/activities available to you some are free some at cost. It’s a great spot for snorkelling. One thing to be wary of is if your renting out jet skis we asked if it was per ski or per person they said per ski but was charged per person. There are a couple of bars in the complex itself and some on the beach but nothing other than that. Rooms are clean. With a walk in shower. Which wasn’t the best for us as we had a small child to wash but we made due with. Athens is around a hours drive away and a taxi/mini bus is available. All in all a good holiday
This place was a bit disappointing. The service was good, but the facility was dated. If I returned, I’d stay at the hotel, not the bungalows. I don’t recommend the on-site restaurant at all. Take a cab into the city for really good food at a cheaper price.
