We booked to stay there during the summer season as we had a concert in the area and we booked many rooms for several days .It was the worst experience we ever had in booking so far.The rooms were old , ruined and we even find caves of birds inside .We managed to stay only half a day despite we are easy going people but it was above our powers .No airconditioning in the rooms that was very hard during the hot days .Gabriella was the worst, unkind, unhelpful host I have ever met until today in all our stays .The only thing that it was important for her was the money and she didn’t return not even the half of our money. We paid 1500+€ and the only help we had was from our contact with booking as we sent them pictures of the rooms and from the caves and they finally returned some credit money for future bookings.Stay away from them and support people who are more qualified and capable to have this kind of business .Not anyone is worth it and this place was the best example.0/5 is the correct rate
Gabriella’s garden is a wonderful place to stay.
The atmosphere is so warm and welcoming, the place is a widow to other times with vintage Cretan design and feel.
The owner, Gabriella, is a very happy and welcoming person.
She loves to host and to create activities for the guests.
The food is very tasty and u’ll never know what is for dinner, which is served every night on the outside big table for all the guests.
For us, the non air conditioned rooms, the sound of the Cicadas, the simplicity was the right thing at the right time
The hostess of that lodging was completely obsessed with yoga and spirituality, to the point of being unbearable. She acted as if she was completely disconnected from reality. It is not acceptable to confuse the spiritual world with attention to guests. It was a really frustrating experience. This hostel is an absolute mess, a real mess that looks like it has been dragged from a landfill and dumped on poor souls hoping to find a decent place to stay. It’s hard to find the right words to describe the depth of filth and chaos that prevails in this place.
Every square inch of this establishment is covered in a layer of grime that defies any imaginable standard of cleanliness. The stains on the walls and furniture, the dust accumulated in the corners and the general feeling of abandonment make it seem that I am trapped in a surreal nightmare.
The way this lodge continues to operate is a mystery and a complete shame. It is an insult to anyone who has hoped to find a livable and comfortable place to stay. It seems that the owners have completely given up on their responsibilities to maintain a clean and healthy environment.
This isn’t just a lack of cleanliness problem, it’s an integrity crisis. Charging money to stay in such a deplorable place is blatant scam and should be considered a crime. I urge the authorities to take immediate action to shut down this place and protect future travelers from the misery that I have endured.
If you are considering staying here, please reconsider your choice. Don’t fall into the trap of this ‘hosting’. It is a place that only brings disappointment, disgust and frustration. Don’t risk living what could be one of the worst experiences of your life in this authentic dump disguised as a place of accommodation. 👎👎👎
Lovely location inside the nature and not far from Heraklion, nice little beach, good swimming area and swimmers and divers from rocks love it! In the hotel you find a friendly and warm atmosphere and delicious homemade food! ….. special cooking class and also yoga sessions!
Simple well decorated and enjoyable
I had booked 6 nights in a room with balcony with Gabriella, but did not stay longer than 30 minutes in the accommodation when I saw the condition of my “room”. Instead of a room with a balcony, I was put in a room that could rather be compared to a tiny horse stable. The wooden door to the room was very difficult to open and close because the wood had already warped. As a woman, one did not feel safely enclosed there either. The room was extremely dirty. The bed was a simple cot that was already very worn. There was no way to store or unpack your luggage. Otherwise, there was only one chair in the room, which looked like it would collapse immediately if you sat on it, a small table (condition like the chair) and a fan. The latter was covered with black dust and did not invite to use it at all! The tiny room window at least had a mosquito screen, but you couldn’t close it. The bathroom consisted of an old mirror above the sink and a toilet with a shower head attached and a small trash can. Nothing else.
