  1. If you stop by the Arizona Falls to see some history of the Arizona Canals, make sure you pack a lunch and enjoy GR Herberger Park which is connected to the Falls. The parking is to the west of the park and I always find a place to park. There are ramadas, tennis courts, volley ball, and lots of green grass to play on. There are restrooms. Arizona Falls is just to the east and you can walk the banks of the canal to enjoy the view or read about the history of the canals. This is a wheelchair friendly site!

  2. It’s an oasis in the middle of the desert 🏜️… Phoenix! I loved the sound of the water, the peacefulness of the place!!! Come and enjoy simplicity 👍🏼👍🏼🤩

  3. My low rating for this public park relates only to the extreme level of rudeness experienced at the Pickleball courts. If you’re new to playing at this location, be forewarned the paddle shenanigans are next level, and heaven forbid you ask a question about how their system works. God help any brand new player who shows up to play. Then you know there’s gotta be at least one PB Karen and Kevin barking at people to ruin the vibe. There are some players who literally walk through courts instead of around them. Very little PB etiquette displayed here. This is a public facility. Do better.

  4. Great park. Played pickleball with a bunch of people. There were probably 20 people waiting to play. Very friendly. No issues with taking turns.

The courts are in great shape.

It is a longish walk from the parking lot to the tennis /pickleball courts. Restrooms are far away.

  5. I go to Herberger for pickleball and it’s a great spot to queue up and play whether alone or with a group. There is a significant need for more court space, hoping those improvements get made in the future!
