Greek Korean Food Faces Off Against Korean Greek Food: A Culinary Fusion Taste Test
Today’s video is all about an exciting culinary showdown: Greek Korean food vs. Korean Greek food! In this episode of GMM #2390, we explore the flavorful merger of these two diverse cuisines. Let’s dig in and see how these mouthwatering dishes stack up against each other!
The Dilemma of Choice: Restaurant vs. Restaurant
Ever found yourself caught between two irresistible dining options? Picture this: a delightful Greek restaurant on one side and a vibrant Korean one on the other. Both are calling your name, but there’s only room in your stomach for one! What if we told you there’s a way to savor both flavors in one dish? That’s right! We’re merging Greek and Korean staples into exquisite fusion creations that promise to tantalize your taste buds.
Introducing the Fusion: Not Just a Trend
We’re not talking about lackluster ghost kitchens or half-hearted attempts at fusion cuisine. No, sir! We’re diving deep into the culinary artistry that only The Mythical Kitchen can deliver. Today, we’ll witness first-hand if these cross-cultural dishes are a flavor hit or a culinary miss.
The Taste Test Begins: Greek Salad Korean Pancake vs. Kimchi Spanakopita
First up on our tasting agenda is a Greek salad Korean pancake, paired alongside a kimchi spanakopita. The pancake features all the classic Greek salad components like tomatoes, Kalamata olives, and cucumbers, enveloped in a delicious pancake batter. But our taste testers are wary, particularly with olives in the mix!
Across the table, the kimchi spanakopita makes a statement with its unique filling of kimchi layered between flaky phyllo dough and gooey mozzarella. From the first bite, it’s clear that this dish is a winner! With its combination of flavors, our palate can easily identify the genius behind this fusion.
Predicting the Palate: What Did the Fans Think?
Before tasting, fans voted on which dish they thought would win the taste test. Surprisingly, 75% of the viewers believed the kimchi spanakopita would come out on top, and they were spot on! The balance of flavors creates a delightful experience, proving that fusion dishes can indeed elevate culinary expectations.
Round Two: Greek Korean Fried Chicken vs. Bulgogi Gyro
Up next, we have a stunning pairing: Greek Korean fried chicken and a bulgogi gyro. The fried chicken stands out, brined in a lemony oregano mix, deep-fried to perfection, and drizzled with a rich Greek dressing. Next to it, the bulgogi gyro features savory bulgogi beef, pickled onions, and a spicy gochujang tzatziki that’s impossible to resist.
As both dishes are tasted, it quickly becomes clear how much effort went into each. While the fried chicken is a comforting classic, the bulgogi gyro makes a compelling argument with its unique twist on a traditional flavor profile. Even among all the fried goodness, each taste tester grapples with which dish reigns supreme.

Moving On: The Kebab & Korean Moussaka Showdown
Continuing our culinary journey, we arrive at the sizzling chicken kebab paired with a Korean moussaka. The kebab, with its combination of tender meat, aromatic spices, and a side of savory baked beans, is definitely a feast for the senses. Its juicy, smoky flavor is hard to resist!
Meanwhile, the moussaka combines layers of fried eggplant, hearty Korean-style braised potatoes, and a creamy gochugaru béchamel sauce that gracefully melds flavors together. As each dish is sampled, it’s evident that while both are delicious, the complexity of the Syrian moussaka truly shines.
The Final Countdown: Sweet Treats Await
As we draw near to the end of the taste test, it’s time for the culminating round: dessert! We present two delectable options: Korean dalgona candy and a twist on baklava featuring red bean paste. Each dessert brings a unique flavor profile and texture to the table, tempting our taste testers.
The dalgona candy, with its airy lightness and nutty flavor, offers a playful end to this culinary adventure. In contrast, the baklava—layered with red bean paste and persimmon syrup—brings a delightful chewiness that could win anyone’s heart.
A Game of Predictions: How Did Viewers Fare?
Once again, audience votes are taken into account, but this time the results are closer than expected! With a mere 53% believing the baklava would win, our taste testers were surprised at how much they enjoyed both desserts. Which one will emerge as the favorite, and are the viewers’ predictions accurate once more?
The Consequences: Poetry and Instagram Shenanigans
As the tasting concludes, it becomes clear that our mythical tasting beasts have some explaining to do! Due to their mismatched predictions, they owe us a humorous punishment: an Instagram photo featuring a potato with the caption “that’s a spud, and I’m a dud”! Every good chef knows that culinary risk-taking can come with its consequences—both in the kitchen and on social media!

-What is this? spinach pie?
-What is it on the inside?
-not spinach!
Spanakopita literally means spinach pie… that dish had nothing to do with spanakopita 😂
Spanako-pita means spinach-pie so if it doesn't have spinach it's just pita 😂
Why mozzarella? Makes absolutely no sense.
Olives and Tzatziki are two things that I was able to develop a taste for, after previously not liking them, because they are used on two of my favorite things. Frozen supreme pizza and gyros.
Man they were just at each other’s throats this whole episode, that wasn’t fun to watch
Can you give Link a break ! Dang y’all all over him I can’t imagine this show without a Link😮
Guys i love "HeRos"
Link: I like Greek food but I don't like Olives or cucumber.
Me: So you DON'T like Greek food.
If you like this… Cinnamon’s, a breakfast place mostly in Hawaii but with one location in Vegas, makes an incredible “Korean omelette”. It has kimchi plus a bunch of unusual Korean sauces. It’s so strange, I crave it, I used to live in Hawaii and I want to go back just for that.
LOL
nice idea. Thanks.
10:10 It's a bit criminal. Bibimbap translates to "mixed rice". It needs to be mixed together.
