  1. Me and my family stayed in this hotel at the end of June 2023. Overall the location is quite good (around 5 min walk), near the sandy beach with sunbeds, umbrellas, tavernas and watersport activities. Also near all the happening with lots of restaurants and shops.
We had 2 renovated rooms, but there were some damages already. The room with side see and street view was clean, bed comfortable. We took also air-con which cost us 7 EUR per day and fridge 25 EUR per week, but our agency told us that in advance, so we were comfort with that. Air-con worked perfectly, very silent, also the fridge. There were some mosquitos outside, but they put the mosquito net on the balcony door, so we were fine inside. The housekeepers do their job if we weren’t inside the room, just they didn’t speak any English, so it was hard to communicate with them (to clean just the bathroom).
The breakfast was really basic, which was fine, maybe just better quality of greek jougurt, salami and cheese would be great. And at least one of fruit each day, since there was none for the whole week. Dinner was also basic, what you expect from 3 star hotel. I don’t mind the small choice, since what was prepared was really tasty, specially the pasta each day and greek mussaka. We expected some nuggets or greek souvlaki or gyros with taziki, but we didn’t get it. Also for desert would be good at least one choice of fruit each day. Just a suggestion.
The pool is really great, with enough sunbeds and shade under umbrellas with very nice green surroundings. Also the pool taverna was really nice, although we expected maybe some lower prices for frape which was 3,5 EUR, on the other hand the local big draught beer was just 3 EUR, which was great.

  2. Everybody from the staff are helpful. The breakfast is okay. But the rooms are unacceptable. Every evening we have bugs in the bathroom. One we even have a cockroach. We talked with the manager about it, the response is that they cannot do anything with it. Honestly i just dont believe this. So all in all, the hotel is great is you dont want to use the rooms 🙂

  3. Unfortunately, however, not much good can be said about the Faliraki Bay Hotel. The rooms are living out of communist times, old, uncomfortable furniture, yellowed bedding, similarly rough and stained towels. The bathroom also left a lot to be desired, an old shower with a curtain, not even a hand soap. In the room we found surprises such as a jammed door lock, a broken toilet cistern (the fault was quickly repaired after being reported) and mostly no hot water. Air-conditioning and fridge for a fee, but it is doubtful that either of these worked properly. Room cleaning consisted only of making the bed and taking out the rubbish (general cleaning was only once, bed linen was not changed at all, clean towels were not a problem). Breakfast was monotonous and of poor quality, head of minced meat and jam. Dinners already more varied, but products of similarly poor quality, no fruit. As a dessert was served jelly, ice cream from powder, possibly some mango. The average age of hotel guests is 60 years and this is the atmosphere in the hotel. The hotel owner very unpleasant to deal with guests. The only plus point of the hotel is the great location, close to the beach and the centre, and a quite pleasant pool, although there was also a situation where the pool was inaccessible in the afternoon because the owner decided to put chlorine in the water. Overall, I would not choose the Faliraki Bay Hotel a second time.

  4. The entire experience of Faliraki Bay from arriving to leaving was brilliant. We arrived before check in time but was greeted with a warm welcome. Every part of the hotel is spotless; pool, restaurant, room and everywhere in between.
There is a shop next door with a bus stop outside that goes to most places on the island. The bus service is cheap and really good, and is air conditioned, I would definitely recommend using it. A lot of places are around €2 to get to, petrol is €2.5 litre, or the hotel is happy to book a taxi.
It is only a couple of minutes walk to the beach down a path, so you don’t have to go near any roads. As the beach is not in the centre of Faliraki, it isn’t busy, but there are still water sports and boat rides available, so it isn’t cut off. As soon as you walk into the beach there are €5 sun beds with waiter service to the beach. Faliraki is the only place on the island that we found has soft sand beaches, everywhere else is pebble.
The town is close enough to easily walk to, with lots of shops, pubs and restaurants, but you are out of the way enough for it to be peaceful.
The half board food is nice, with a mixture of plain English food (pasta/fries/rice) and more adventurous food, usually options of both meat and fish. Breakfast is very basic but enough to get you going (not continental; no pastries or fruit). Breakfast: 8.00-9.30, evening meal: 7.00 8.30. There are bar options for food throughout the day with burgers, pizza etc. Drinks are a good price €2 for cola, €6 cocktail.
The hotel is also very cool. I don’t know how, air con isn’t on yet but it was a lovely temperature inside and in the rooms all night.
There seems to be a 11pm curfew, so any noise from outside stopped at 11 each night without fail, and stayed quiet throughout the night.
    The downsides:
The cleaners station was directly outside our room, so each morning we were woken up between 6-6.30 by them chatting. We had 2 mornings of it and spoke to reception, had no others problems after that and the cleaners are still very nice to us.
The beds in the rooms are very basic. Not good if you like a soft bed. I like a firm bed and loved it, it wasn’t springy, just firm.
We are planning on staying at this hotel again next year as it is a great hotel, with lovely staff, at a great price and in a perfect location.
