Caution extremly unprofessional and unreliable accomodation business.
I had contacted with the owner of the place Mr. Giorgos, couple days ago and booked via phone a room. Despite a continuous communication in order to keep him posted, regarding our time of arrival in the evening, on the same day when we finally arrived, he informed us that the room was given to somebody else with the excusion that was being forced to do it!!
Pls be guided acc in order to avoid any unplesant surprises at your stay in this beautiful island!!
Mr Giorgos is an amazing host! Positive person, friendly and always makes sure you are happy.
Stayed for 17 days at his place.
Enjoying the incredible view & peaceful energy.
The best value for money rooms in Ikaria!
The owner Mr. Giorgos picked me up from the airport.
Very polite and on time. On the way we stopped for figs and water from the springs of Ikaria. From the beginning his hospitality was evident.
Then the room had the most beautiful view I could find. All the beach meadow on the plate.
The best was when you opened the door and you could see the view from the bed.
The location of the rooms in the most central point next to the village of Armenistis with all the bars was perfect for a solo traveler without a shuttle where you can walk in 4 minutes to the village and in 7 to the famous Mesakti beach.
The room had the basics for what I was looking for while at the same time the owner was willing to help with anything I asked for.
The rooms smelled of mildew. It didn’t have air conditioning but something like paleolithic fans that simply moved the hot air. The room was dirty and had spiders. The furniture was old and uncomfortable. Neither towels nor sheets were changed nor were the bathroom garbage bags renewed. There was only one toilet paper for 4 days of stay in the double room. There was no bathtub or shower but it was a single sink and shower. He was filling the bathroom with water and he didn’t even have a mop to get them together with the result that we almost fell and hit ourselves hard. There was insufficient lighting in the outside of the building at night and it was very dangerous as it had many steps and the slope was downhill. Overall if you are looking for a gold paid campsite with some basic amenities go for it.
The most untrustworthy guy I have ever met!!! We booked a room by phone the day before and when we arrived at 9:30 at night he told us “you were late and I gave it elsewhere” with the excuse that he was being pressured! We had talked the same day and told him we were going late at night! He was ashamed to look us in the eye but the damage was done, he didn’t think to take a phone call but just gave it away! Not worth going to this place better on the beach!!!
