  1. Zaira hotel, a lovely restored olive oil factory, is a one of a kind retreat right on the water in Gela Gulf on Lesvos. Whether it is early morning or late at night, you can feel your blood pressure drop as you lounge on the patio looking across the water. This visit, my second, was in June so the small fishing harbor also was decorated with small yachts flagged from countries all over Europe. Last time, in February there were no yachts but always a lovely mist just over the water in the morning. Zaira is part of Scala Loutron, a tiny fishing village that features a wonderful dock side restaurant alongside the working fishing boats, the location for many lovely meals that always start with “Fish or meat?”

Christina and the whole team are always kind and always professional in every interaction. They are always available but at a level that suits you. My visits have been working from there or in nearby Mytiline during the week and vacation on the weekends and well-functioning connectivity makes this possible. It hasn’t been an experience I’ve had firsthand, but they clearly host what must be magical weddings, parties, and other big special occasions in a beachside setting.

Just can’t recommend it enough, the people and the place…

  2. 10 out of 10! We were completely satisfied! The breakfast was more than enough and delicious. The rooms were very clean, we admire the authentic structure of the hotel. It was a holiday with our baby and I can definitely recommend it for families with children. The hotel staff is very caring, thank you especially to Christina, she is very caring and polite. She even took care of all our problems, which were not caused by the hotel, during the holiday, made us feel at home!

  3. Perfect long weekend hotel

+It’s located in a tiny fishing village. It is just too small that there are only 2 taverns apart from Zaira in the area.
+The hotel is beautifully designed and decorated. Everything is brand new.
+It’s a very quiet and extremely peaceful complex.
+The sea and the beach are sandy.
    +About 10km away from the ferry point – 20 eur by taxi/one-way.
+Konstantina from the front desk is a star, she was a great help during our stay 🙂

    -Breakfast was below average.
-Housekeeping and kitchen/service facilities need improvements.
-The hotel is also doing events and organizations. One night, there was a baptism party in the middle of the hotel. Even though all 18 rooms were full and hotel customers were there only to rest for the weekend, the music did not stop till 1 am and everything was going on just 5 steps away from rooms. I believe in high seasons there should be a rule for this kind of organizations. Or the customers should be informed about such huge organizations before they book the rooms.

  4. very good new hotel. rooms are modern and clean. Xristina is an amazing host just makes everything convenient to you. The breakfast was good with the selection of pastries and fruits. thanks for their nice service and hospitality.
